Hi-
I'm new to the DVC - my offer to OKW was just accepted at $60/pt for 100 pts. Is this rate in range with recent OKW resales? Asking price was $63/pt.

Also I'm interested to know what you feel the biggest perks of DVC membership are!

There is a wonderful thread in this section called "Anyone made it (or not made it) through ROFR recently? and it has information on what other members have recently paid for their resale contracts.

That sounds a little too high. I just had an offer accepted for $46/point with all 2011 & 2012 points included with buyer paying closing and 2012 MF.

As long as you are happy with the deal you got, don't worry about what everyone else got. There is really a pretty pretty wide range of offers that get accepted, but remember if an offer is too low it may not pass ROFR.

DougEMG--Who did you go thru to get such a great deal on an OKW contract?

Did it pass ROFR at that price?

I'm sure it will if it hasn't...here's some recent resales at OKW that have passed ROFR:

Ike&Jakesmom----- 210 OKW (Apr) $54, 210 banked '11 pts, all '12 pts (passed 1/11)
busybethie--- 250 OKW (Dec) $53, 6 '10 pts, all '11 & '12 pts, buyer pays closing and mf (sub 12/19, passed 1/17)[
Meriweather------- 250 OKW (???) $49, no '11 or '12 pts, seller pays mf (passed 1/24)
Crazy4Disney06----- 50 OKW (Apr) 55, buyer pays closing and mf (sub 1/13, passed 2/8)

For a smaller 100 point contract it's certainly within the range though towards the top. Not knowing if it had all points or maybe even extended expiration date could make it a better or worse price. But finding contract smaller than 200 or 230 points in a UY you want can also be more difficult at OKW so a little premium might be expected.

Biggest perk of DVC? Good accommodations onsite at Disney at a lesser cost!

Thanks everyone for the feedback. Your link to actual sell prices is so helpful! I'll be sure to utilize this info next time I buy another contract.

I received all 100 of 2011 points so that's a good thing.

If my UY is Dec, when am I required to bank points? Is there a certain timeframe for banking?

you must bank within 8 months - so you must bank dec 2011 pts by july 31, 2012. if you don't, they would expire if you don't use them for a stay by nov 30, 2012.

Congrats to start with! I agree if you are happy with your deal then it is a good deal especially for 100 points. Remember once you bank the points it is a final transaction so if you decide a last minute trip say in Oct after the points are banked you cannot use them. You can although borrow 2012 points if that did happen just so you know. Enjoy!
