Do turkey's generally stink when you open them up to clean them out? Today while DH was cleaning out the turkey the stench was horrendous. Neither of us remember turkey's stinking in the past. So we went ahead and cooked it. Left it in for about 30 minutes past the time the little thingy popped up. When DH was carving it alot of the meat was pink and looked not done so we used our meat thermometer and it said over 160 degrees but something just didn't seem right so we didn't eat it. So what do you think, did we get a bad turkey? Just ticks me off that we spent 20 something dollars on a turkey we couldn't eat.

. My husband and I had to put them in a garbage bag and get them back to the store. Nothing fazes my hubby and he never gags but we both thought we were gonna toss our cookies
