Yes, I would love to see DVC add more concierge villas at Kidani. I'm also hoping they have concierge villas at BLT once that opens.

I really enjoy concierge service, and I love having the option to use my points to book a concierge stay at AKV. We used to love staying in concierge rooms (back before the nice discounts dried up), so the fact that AKV has concierge is a nice plus for us. I know it will be hard to get, especially with the new booking rules, but it's still nice to have the option IMO. We have a stay booked in a concierge 1BR this December, and we're really looking forward to it.

As far as the safaris go, I wish that AKL/AKV would open up the Sunrise Safari to anyone staying at AKL or AKV. Of course they would have to offer it on more days to accomodate the larger number of people who would want to go, but I think that would help reduce the number of people all trying to book the AKV concierge villas, at least by a little bit. The safaris are wonderful, but I enjoy the entire concierge experience. I'm sure that there are lots of other members like me who want to book concierge for the whole experience, not just for the safaris. It seems to me that this would be a relatively easy way for them to make more folks happy and reduce the competition to get the AKV concierge villas.

Voted no because the only real value of concierge level at the old AKL was the sunrise and sunset safaris. The access to the lounge was not well thought out (which is very unusual for a Disney operation) -- it had no view, only fair food offerings and was often crowded. The rooms were not any better and in some ways less attractive than a regular savanna view room -- they had non-savanna view rooms and there was no guarantee that you would get a savanna view room. Daily housekeeping is an expensive proposition that increases the cost of everyone's dues and in many ways not a feature for timeshares.

The sunrise and sunset safaris could be offered in another way.

I don't think Disney can offer concierge in DVC. Some sort of timeshare or tax law that prevents such services from being offered. I've always assumed that the concierge rooms in AKL were thrown in as part of the deal carving out DVC from AKL, with the concierge costs not actually being paid by DVC.

Note that I am not speaking form authority here and could be completely off base. But I honestly think Disney reason for not expanding concierge isn't that they don't think we want it, but that they can't.

I voted no because I don't care for the conceirge services of club level. I would rather buy my snacks in the parks and eat at a restaurant. I don't want to pay extra dues for the housekeeping that I'll never use (because I won't stay club level) and I don't want the hotel to section off a portion of "good rooms" that aren't available to me because I won't stay club level.

I believe DVC operates the AKL/V Concierge lounge now. They get reimbursed by the hotel based on the number of hotel guests using the lounge.
