Just put on hold our cruise and secret porthole rooms are taken already. I should have known if I didn't book this morning it would be gone, but had to wait for DH to get home first.

Ended up booking ajoining room 2071 and 2073. We booked through Continental Airlines (10,000 airmiles). Can I switch it to Disney and get the 10% off and shipboard credit in a couple of weeks? Is it still 250.00 per stateroom? How does that work?

Thanks!

Deb

I wish that we could go! You are so lucky to get any room!!! How are you taking your kids out of school? We did a 7 nighter last November and it took DD almost a month to make up for last bit of homework. It was also the first time she ever got a C on her report card. We won't be doing that again.

We actually homeschool our kids and traveling is one of the reasons why we do. We either start school 2 weeks earlier or don't take Christmas or Easter break. Do school on Saturdays to make up for it. The kids are pretty well ahead so they don't suffer if we miss a few days. When they used to be in school it was easier because they were younger to take them out. If they were in school now, there is no way I would.

We like to go to WDW off season also because of the crowds and prices.

Lucky you. Would love to do it but time frame stinks for anyone in school. Oh well. We are doing 10 night december cruise anyways in 06.

We homeschooled up until this year, and this is the reason we did too. Our kids wanted to go to school, so for now we are following the school schedule. That Sept. 11 day cruise looked SO good though! That is our twins DDs birthday week and we have cruised that week for the past 5 years! If public school doesn't work out and we go back to homeschooling, we may just have to go on that one!

Enjoy your cruise! Wish we were going too!

Homeschoolers have all the luck! I would just love to go- think of us- toiling away at school which ya'll are out having a blast on an extended Southern Carib cruise- you lucky kids you!

I dont know , but around Noon I tried to get one and did not..
tried all 6 ....

I made my reservation at 10:30 and they were already all gone!
I couldn't believe it.

Hmmm.. I wonder who got it. It's got to be a Diser...who else would know? Maybe an insider DCL employee told someone. Though I think Dis'ers know it all!

We've had years like this also. Not so much the kids wanting to go back to school, but us! There are days where I contemplate how much easier life would be if they went back to school. Though, those are selfish reasons which is why we don't.

Good luck, maybe we'll see you on the cruise!

Ahh...just take the kids out of school and come with us! I think this would be a great life learning experience for the kids. I think this falls under Geography!

Deb

dp you think a specific travel agency snapped them up knowing they would be able to sell them?

i looked at this cruise but with my hubby's workj schedule it is not possible :confused3 if only the cruise left on a thursday september 14 and came back on a sunday, then we would be able to do it! oh well, we would probably get in trouble taking our kids out for so long anyway!

They were gone last night when I was looking on the Disney web site! All but one of the cat 7/6's too. 6634 was still there this morning but when I called to hold at 12pm it was gone:( Oh well they have me wait listed for any of those.

Hey, we had those staterooms in 10/03 and they were in a great location!

Oh good! Did you use them adjoining rooms? Did you like them?

So exciting! I still want to know who got the SPH rooms!

Deb

Yes,we used them for adjoining rooms and they were very convienient! We loved the location. Being mid ship was great! We only needed the elevators to get to Deck 9 or 10. Everything else we just used the stairs for.

:cool1:

I checked the website and there were 2 available!!! Call and see, i got it about an hour ago....

OK, One down...Did anyone take the above advice and grab the other SPR that was available. I stayed in room 5520 last year and LOVED the location and the room.

Dairyou...Is your repo cruise really a surprise??? Share with us how you are going to break the news, if you didn't already.

Mjasp,

I just called on Monday to give my deposit money and checked. They said still none available. I wonder if Travel Agents booked these first before anyone else does. Or maybe DCL releases them when they feel like it :(

Yes, we are still surprising our kids. I was just pm'ing someone and telling them we hope it doesn't backfire on us.

The kids believe my husband has said no to the Repo cruise. I keep asking him and he keeps saying no. So instead of the Repo, DH is taking me to the beaches in the L.A. area. They told me that isn't a "real" vacation. I told them it would have to do. While flying down we'll tell them check in to the hotel is not until 4:00 so we might as well visit the Magic while we are in the area.

We can't wait to see the look in their faces :)
