So I installed an add-on to my firefox browser (it's also available in other browsers) called Piclens (http://www.cooliris.com/). It takes photos on some of the more common photo sites (smugmug, photobucket) and turns them into an awesome scrolling 3d 'wall' of pictures in your browser.

It's about the coolest thing I've seen in a long time. With thanks to a few users here, I checked out a few galleries this way. Like these:

I know there's more (and thanks to these two for having those Disney galleries to view) that are out there. I just had to share. It's super cool.

This is the best plug in around.
The new version works with IE also.
Highly recommended.

Very cool, but sadly it wont work with my pbase galleries:confused3 Im seriously considering a move to smugmug!

Send this link to pbase and tell them you are considering moving to SmugMug because of the lack of piclens support:

I left pbase years ago because of their lack of support for new technologies like RSS (which piclens is based on). Looks like they've not changed a bit since then.

Seriously, it should take a talented programmer a few hours to enable this. I dont know why pbase hasn't upgraded much in years.

Heck, I'm a programmer. Piclens tells exactly how to do it on their website. I have my own photo collections that are run on my server with the open source Gallery. I was able to add in support for this in my site in about 2 hours. It wasn't that hard. It's just an RSS feed and a token on your pages...

OK, what am I doing wrong? I downloaded the IE plugin and I can use it on the Smugmug galleries in the original link. But when I try it on my own Smugmug site, it does not work.

What is the trick?

Make sure that it is a listed, public gallery. It needs to be accessible by RSS feed.

There has got to be more to it than that. It is a public gallery, almost all of mine are.

How do I make sure it is accessible by RSS feed?

It must be a configuration problem on your end. I just tried it on your April Tulip Festival gallery and it worked just fine. I used Firefox, so it's possible that it is a problem with the IE plugin.

I think the IE side is new with this release so it may have some bugs still. I would contact PicLens

I've been using PicLens for a while now, and it is very slick.

I had to do some fiddling with the Menalto Gallery script that I use for my web site, but I was able to get it working, and my whole gallery works with PicLens now (as of, oh, a couple months ago.) I use it myself sometimes to flip through the galleries quickly if I'm looking for a particular photo.
