Okay then, how old is too old to wear a bikini?

36! You are barely in your prime! Go for it!

Just be careful about all the sun. Looking like tanned leather at 50 has to be a bummer.

I think if it looks good on and you feel good wearing it than you should.

maybe post a picture so we can judge?:p

I think there are many factors besides age and body,,

when you go from looking good, to looking like someone who is in denial about age,,it might be time for a one piece

if you have a pre-teen or teen daughter, and you will have more guys looking at you than her,,it might be time for a one piece....

if it's a family vacation and you want to look like the mother , rather than the nanny...LOL it might be time for a one piece...

if you put a bikini on and look like you are ready for the Springer show..it might be time for a one piece......LOL

Oprah had a show recently on looking great over 35 and the person on there admitted that there is a fine line between looking good, classy, and tasteful and looking like an aging woman trying to hang on to her youth. (Not her exact words, but that was her point).

I agree with the person on Oprah.

There is a woman I work with who is in her 50's. Today she is wearing a gold micro miniskirt with white knee high boots. I'd love to have her body, but if I did, you wouldn't catch me dead in what she is wearing, which is more suited for a young woman. My styles have definately changed as I have aged.

I'd wear a bikini, provided I could wear a bikini, up until my mid-40's, I guess. After that, I think I would feel more comfortable wearing something more modest.

To each their own though. :)

I still wear them.:teeth: I'm going to try a tankini this year. Bought a couple for Hawaii in May.

One of those tan in a bottle tans would be a great thing to try. Neutrogena has a wonderful one.

And I say go for it.

Unless you are the 75 year old lady I saw with a yellow bikini, too small and when wet, it was see through. :scared:
Her husband in the white, too small, speedo was even worse. :scared:

Go for it, wear whatever you feel comfortable in.

I'm a swimmer. Toned size 12 but I have never ever felt comfortable in one. In fact, I don't even wear pretty costumes! I'm really happy and confident in a good quality Speedo, or Maru design, so thats what I buy.

Oh, and I am 36 too :D

I still wear a two piece--wouldn't call it a bikini by today's standards (band-aid more describes today's bikini). -- and, BTW, I'm 45 but don't tell anyone. ;) I wouldn't wear the micro coverage type (a) because I'm more modest than that and (b) I, too, have surgical scars that I do not wish to inflict on others!

My husband prefers me in a two piece suit--he even likes the skimpier cut ones that I won't wear--and my daughter (13) has even commented that she likes them better on me as well. I still have moments where I'm a bit self-conscious about it, but I would still have the same thighs and cellulite (even though I only weigh 110 and wear a size 4) that would not be covered with a one piece anyway.

I think most of us women take this swimsuit stuff way too seriously--if we want to get into the water, we really need to have one whether we want them or not--we might as well please ourselves, don't 'cha think?

I will always wear a bikini. Doesn't matter my age or my weight. (I'm 29 and fat. ;) )

I'm really tall and two pieces are the only way. Even "long torso" one pieces aren't long enough and it can get painful. And I think that up the crotch look is worse than anyone seeing my fat.

As long as the suit fits, it's good. :)

I love my Speedo bikini (I leave the top at home, Beverly thinks I look silly wearing it). I am 5'9" and weigh 275. I look great. I'm also over 50. Hang in there girlfriend (literally).

even if a women has a nice body, if her face has wrinkles all over it, its time for a change

You know, all of these problems could be solved quite easily. Let's all go to the beach NAKED!

By the way, ALL women have good bodies, providing the owner is still breathing. If not, it becomes a throw-away. Oh, wait a minute, I'll bet you have your VERY OWN definition of a 'good body', don't you?

Bottom line, (no pun intended) who cares how old you are? Wear it if you feel comfortable. If for no other reason, just to make 'Pop Daddy' sick!

Yeah!! But there are so few nude beaches left in the States.

Thank you! My DH says the same thing. :D
