Okay, now what's the deal with dedicated/non-dedicated 2-bedroom at BCV?

Other than the obvious lockoff and additional door to the hallway, what are the differences between the dedicated and lockoff two-bedroom units at BCV? I recall some discussion about some units having two queen beds while some (most?) two-bedrooms have one queen and one sofa bed in the second bedroom?

We are spending a few nights later this month, and as it now stands I would much prefer two beds in the second bedroom, but couldn't really remember what our odds are to get that, and am assuming they are only available if dedicated two-bedroom is requested. Thanks!

You need to have a dedicated 2 bedroom for a chance at 2 beds in the second bedroom. You then need to make that request at the time of booking the room. Somehow they made an error in furnishing the rooms and made them all with the bed/sofa combo. They then went back to put 2 beds in the dedicated rooms and discovered some of them don't have the space to stay in compliance with handicap regulations with 2 beds so there is a "mix" of rooms.

I just want to further clarify what PamOKW was saying in that there are 3 different 2 bedroom room categories at BCV to reserve. These are not just requests like close to the elevator. These are actual reservations. You can either reseve a:

2 bedroom lock-off (1 queen bed and 1 sofa bed in 2nd bedroom)
2 bedroom dedicated with 2 queen beds
2 bedroom dedicated with 1 queen bed and 1 sofa bed.

Back in February when they changed the codes at MS to seperate the 2 bedroom dedicateds, they took existing reservations and just picked a few to give 2 queen beds. If you had a dedicated booked, you may get lucky, but I would call tommorrow and see what you have and see if one is available.

Actually the 2 queens in a dedicated is no longer a request, you must book this category just as you would standard vs. preferred view at the BW. It does not require additional points but it must be booked.

If you want 2 queens you will have to book with Member Services based on availiblity at the time you book.

There are fewer rooms with the 2 queens than the queen/sofa bed combination.

The booking will say 2 queen/ 2 bedroom dedicated.

There is a total of 25 rooms with the 2 beds. And as they have posted previously it must be requested specifically. Also if you pay cash for any days, you will only get the one bed and sofa, no options there.

Can you get a studio with the 2 queen beds, or is it just availabe for a 2 bedroom?

Sorry its just those 25 dedicated 2 bedrooms at BCV.

Except for OKW, no DVC studios have 2 Queen beds. All have a queen and sleep sofa. At all other DVC resorts (besides BCV) all dedicated 2BR villas have 2 queen beds in the 2nd BR.

Unless you count the VB Inn rooms as studios with have 2 queen beds but that's not WDW of course.
