Gee!! I'm flattered!! I didn't think my dessert idea would be such a big hit! Well, we'll be in the FW Cabins 11/29 - 12/6....I see a slumber party/brownie night thing going on!!

I'd see it sooner if you all lived closer. :(
Wow, Vicki! I just may have to put that on my calendar since I live in South Florida. A mere 2 hour drive away! :teeth:

That's it, Astrid! Get out there and look for him. :teeth: Won't meet him staying at home, that's for sure. Let us know how it goes. :)

It's Saturday! My favorite day of the week, I think. In little bit I'm going to head outside for a walk. Beat that hot FL sun for a change! At 11 it becomes a little unbearable. DS has a dental appointment this morning, and this afternoon we go to his Godmother's wedding! I can't wait!! I'm going to try and have a great time and squish down the feelings of being there without a significant other. Think positive...think positive! LOL! Maybe I'll meet him there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wooooo hoooo!

PinWizard....have fun at the wedding! I haven't been to a wedding for quite a while.

I'll be taking the 5 yo to dance, then the 9 yo to dance, the 11 yo to a basketball game (we're hoping she's in the starting line up today!) then a costume party for the kiddos. By the time that's all done I'll be ready for bed. BUT...there will be laundry to tackle, clothes to lay out for church, a pot luck dinner to ready for pastor appreciation Sunday.... it doesn't end around here.

PinWizard...we'll be on Marco for Thanksgiving, then heading north to WDW. May I ask where you are in south FL?

Yep, Pin Wizard. I met my man on-line! It was actually a FUN, interesting experience. I posted my profile and received at least 40 responses within 2 weeks. It was fun reading the profiles which were sent to me. It was also fun searching on my own through the profiles. You should give it a try:

www.match.com

I think you can do a basic search without signing up. To do a more advanced search you have to sign-up. You don't have to pay though unless you want to contact someone. I liked it because you can do very specific searches, by physical characteristics, educational status, childen, pets etc. Since all my friends are married, I found it to be the best way to meet single, well-educated men. Now, the quality of the men out there definitely varies. I think you can tell a lot by what he posts in his profile. Just be careful. Don't give you home phone number, meet in a public place, etc.

I recently read an article that dating services are the single largest money maker of on-line services - even more so than adult sites. That surprised me! It also said that like 1 in 5 single people had used an online single site in the last 6 months! It seems to me that on-line dating is the biggest change to the contemporary dating world! I have one friend who even got married to a man she met on-line!!!

Wow, Vicki! Sounds like you'll be running all day. Laundry...it never ends, does it! I'm in the southern part of Palm Beach County.

Wow! Sounds pretty interesting. I'll have to think about that!

Well, the wedding was really nice. It was great to see a couple look so adoringly at each other. Hmmm...don't remember me and Keith doing that! :earseek: So now I'm feeling lonely tonight. :(

Sorry to hear you're lonely, Sandy. If it makes you feel any better, I started crying during the Halloween party (amongst people who don't know my situation) then spilt most of my drink, only to put my cell phone in the remainder of the liquid in the cup. Needless to say, it was time to come home. So I came home, went into my bedroom and saw my DH's shoes there, as he always left them. Cried some more.

Oh, and I was the only Mom not in costume. I'm not usually such a wet blanket!

So, the girls are decompressing for a few in front of the Disney Channel, then it's off to bed for them and some reading time for me.

Can't wait for the next 20 years or so to be over. :(

(((((((((((((((((((((((Hugs))))))))))))))))))))))) for you, Vicki! I'm sorry it was such a tough evening. God bless you...you still have your husband's things!! When Keith died, two girls I worked with came over and helped me clean everything out. I saved a couple things and they took the rest. All that crying is good for you. I know it doesn't seem like it right now, but it will get easier. Things will become more bearable. A couple years ago my wedding anniversary fell on a Sunday...Mother's Day I think. We were married on May 21. So DS and I went to church that morning and sat right in front of the choir. There's one guy with the most magnificent voice!! He sang Ave Maria...which was sung in church at our wedding! I COMPLETELY lost it and started crying my eyes out! And I wasn't quiet about it at all. Some things just get to you, and there's not much you can do to prevent it. Just go with it. Why can't you wait for the next 20 years or so to be over?

Hey, ladies! :teeth: How's everyone doing tonight? Any HOT dates? :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

So I know whether or not I make it through with my mind reasonably in tact. Right now, it doesn't look too good! (I watched myself put my cell phone in a 1/2 full cocktail. Now, is that signs of lunacy or what?)

When I lose it in church, the whole church knows, and they lose it with me. (It's a small church.) Nice to have friends to cry with! :D

I'll feel better tomorrow. I promise.

Don't worry, Vicki. You'll make it through even though it doesn't seem it now. Hopefully, you'll do it long before I did. And eventually you'll feel happiness again also. I remember the first time I felt happy after Keith died. My next emotion right away was guilt. You will feel better...I promise! No, not lunacy. Grief! For a long time I felt like I was disconnected from everything. Like I was watching what was happening in my life. Some grief counseling helped.

Pin Wizard........I haven't the time to go thru all the threads. How old are you? I've been single with 2 kids since 1978. For a few years after, I dated and tried to bring my self esteem up. But looking back after many years now, I've come to the conclusion, men are only interested in sex. Women feel sex is love, men feel sex is lust and once they get it it's goodbye. My problem was my inferiour complex and I used men to make me feel better about myself. That was a lark. We essentially used each other. I'm still single after 25 years and happy with my life without a man. But if the right person suddenly appeared , I might go for it.

Hi, Cassie! :) I'm in my lower end of the 40's and have been widowed 11 years. Wow...25 years single again for you! Bless your heart! Eleven years is enough! I'm ready for a lifetime partner again.

OK, it's Sunday morning, and I've regained my composure.

It's a bright beautiful day! Hope everyone enjoys it!

Way to go, Vicki! :teeth: Each day is a new beginning. Think I'll go out and get my walk in.

Hi, ladies! You must all be out on HOT dates this weekend, because no one's around to answer me on that! Did everyone survive the weekend okay? I know sometimes that's my toughest time.

HI!!! :wave2:

I know I am a bit late getting in with my weekend plans...but my weekend was hectic!

Friday night I met my best friend for dinner at TGI Friday's. We had a very cute waiter ;). I had ordered a Bay Breeze and he asked if I wanted a big or a small one. After he left we had a chuckle at that because my friend says to me that he should know ALL women want a big one!

Saturday morning I was up bright and early to be at a church softball tournament my best friend's SO was playing in. Churches from all over FL came. Sad to say we lost both games, so we were unable to continue on in the tournament. Quick Chick-Fil-A lunch and then I had a meeting with my new boss at around 3pm. I started a new job this week!!! I have been looking soooooo hard for a job since moving back to FL 6 months ago. I was getting extremely discouraged, but I finally got one!!! Yeah!!!! :hyper:

In the evening my best friend wanted to go to a bar to see the Monster's of the Mid-Day. I don't know if anyone on this thread from FL knows who they are, or if anyone has XM radio because I think they are broadcast through that. They are a talk radio show on 104.1 that is hilarious (although fairly crude, and not for every crowd). We were at the bar until about 2am. After that we hit Denny's for some food...nothing like breakfast at 3 in the morning after a LONG night out! ;) Then I crashed at her place about 4am and "sadly" had to get up at 7am this morning (Sunday) and go in for a meeting. As soon as that meeting was over, you can bet I was back in bed!!! Didn't actually have to go in to work till 2:30, worked all afternoon/evening, came home, grabbed something to eat and now I am DISing!!
