I've had the pleasure of meeting Barry and he doesn't have any tatoos or piercings, but Barry you forgot to tell them about that thing that is attached to your hand!

Thanks, Suzanne...verification is always helpful! :teeth: Something attached to his hand? He IS single...right? Not a ring. What else would be attached to his hand?

My guess is a cellphone or PDA :smooth: Am I close?

Well, I had an interesting Sunday evening. Went to 6 Flags for the last day of the season with the local coaster group. Met some interesting people. (I've been a member for a while but this is only my second event). Of course, it's difficult to have anything more than a superficial conversation with coaster trains rumbling by in the background every couple of minutes.

It was great fun, though. Until I realized after the very, very last ride that my jacket pocket had come unzipped and I was without wallet, keys or phone. :( They found the wallet. They tell me they will probably find the other things eventually, although the phone will undoubtedly be in little pieces.

So there I was, two hours from home with no car or house keys. Boy, I'll tell you, that's when you learn who your real friends are!!

I once made a list of what I was looking for in a guy and "put it out into the cosmos," and to my amazement, it came through. Several years and tearful nights later, I've learned that I need to be more careful and specific about my list!

I would have liked to see that hurl trail! :)

Some Tilt-a-Whirls get me sick, depending on how fast they spin.

I would have given you a ride and probably some pancakes at IHOP. :)

Oh no, poor you! I am glad they were able to recover your wallet at least. The things we keep in our wallets are usually much more difficult to replace than a set of keys or a cell phone. So much trouble cancelling creditcards, and getting new ones issiued for everything from the autoclub to your SS to the local blockbuster. Thank goodness you don't have that headache!!

I have news for you...I don't know how old you are, but as we get older, we can't handle those rides like we used to!

:teeth: Well I think that I can handle it now (early 20s), ask me again after a few drinks!! ;) It is funny though, because after you have been riding them all night, sometimes it is an easy one that makes you sick! Last time we had been riding rides for a good 2 hours or so, and then went on a fairly tame (compared to some of the others) ride, and the slight twisting got to me so badly. I knew after that one that I was done for the night. I guess my brain had had enough jarring around!!!

Did you have someone come to your rescue? Jeez...if that happened to me, I can't think of anyone I'd call. :(

LOL! :hyper: I don't think that would have been a pretty sight! Really?...it depends on speed for you? I used to LOVE that ride. Don't think I'll be getting on one any time soon. ;)

Oh! You have a ways to go yet!

Did you have someone come to your rescue?

Yes, I did. And to make a grueling story short, it involved a 5 hour trip for them, 'cause they had house keys but had to get my car keys and then get to the park. I'm not sure what I'm going to be doing for repayment, but it will be substantial.

Truth be told, I had a stripped down wallet with me, essentials only, and I'd much rather have replaced that stuff that go through the ordeal with the keys. Since I wasn't given the choice, I managed. I'm glad it happened in Massachusetts and not while I was coastering in VA!! My car has a computer chip in the key, so it complicates things immensely in situations like this.

As far as ride stamina goes, I have a number of friends who are fine on the most intense coasters but can't stand anything that spins. One coaster-convert buddy went on every intense thing with me, and then since there wasn't a line we decided to go on the hanging swing-thing. --You know what I mean? The array of chairs suspended by chains that goes around and tilts up a bit? He turned the most amazing shade of green. That did him in for *hours*!

Wow! I don't think I want to drive 2 hours to see someone. I give you credit on that one! ;)

Yeah, sometimes I think we're both crazy. When we first met, I was actually working near where he lives a couple times a week, so it was easy for us to get together. By the time I left that job, we were full-fledgedly 'in love', and I can't imagine my life without him. At least now he's the one doing all the driving; he comes up to see me twice a week and every other weekend (basically, whenever I don't have the kids..although sometimes he comes up when they are here, too.) Unfortunately, neither of us are in a position where we can move closer; he runs a business with his bro-in-law & sis which requires his daily active participation, and I won't move my kids that far away from their dad (he lives down the street, we have a great relationship and great arrangement for the kids). It's frustrating as all heck sometimes, but what I can say? We've even passed the 'vacationing together' and 'yard work together' tests. *sigh* Oh well, only 9 more years until my youngest is on his own...then I can move closer!

Good...I'm glad you had someone to help you. :) I agree...it's the spinning rides that are now the killer. Coasters are okay. Drops are okay. But spinning? Forget it!! Your poor friend!!

Well, CoasterAddict PMed me, but I can't meet her when she is at WDW. I did see her photo on her website and she is pretty cute. I wonder if she is blushing now? :)

Tough break in TIMING! Maybe another time? :teeth:

That horrible pic of me with the hypercoaster sign. Gack. :p
I'm *usually* the one holding the camera, much safer.

Yep, rain check has been issued. That's what I get for avoiding weekends in my travel plans (too many DVC points!)

Tonight just a warm cozy evening with the ironing. Sound like fun?

Just curious, how did you go about 'putting it out into the cosmos'?

I had a dream last night that I was having an affair with a married man - with tattoos and piercings! I think I've been reading this thread too long.
