Okay...I've Called the Late Night DISers, Now I'm Calling the Single DISers (Part 2)

Thanks guys!:D

And thanks for the PMs, Sandy!:D

Anyone hear from Disney845? Hope she is ok.

You're welcome. :)

No, haven't heard anything from Disney845. Hmmm.

I can't take the driving here!

If the traffic lights are out you are supposed to treat it like a 4 way stop. Saw an FPL truck barrel through an intersection, then skidded to a stop in the middle. He almost broadsided a BellSouth truck. These people would have had an even longer wait for electric and phone.

Now if the traffic lights are blinking yellow, you slow and proceed cautiously through. Oh no! Not here. Here the drivers see flashing yellow.....to them that means come to a complete stop and sit there for a minute. ACK!

I feel like I'm either going to get broadsided or rear-ended.

I was going to be on a plane to Illinois tonight but Ivan is headed to the Gulf, thank goodness!

Driving must be horrendous. :( A blinking light, huh? I did not learn about that in driving school after a speeding ticket. But I did learn something that the instructor said everyone is surprised about. If a traffic light is yellow, you're supposed to STOP! LOL! Not what I learned in NJ. ;)

The traffic lights can either blink red or blink yellow. If it's blinking red your way...then you come to a complete stop. If it is blinking yellow your way...just slow and be careful.

Makes sense to me! :)

Anyone have anything exciting planned for the weekend? Nothing here. DS has a couple projects for school to work on. Plus he's in hot water and is pretty much grounded. Why is it that when he's grounded, I end up grounded also? Not fair!

We are heading out of here this afternoon. Going to AL and then who knows from here. I don't need this hurricanes right now in my life. Have too much other stuff going on.

PW- I am doing nothing this weekend and loving it!!!! I want a boring weekend with nothing happening. I had enough excitement last weekend!

FLM- Hurricanes are exhausting. Stay safe. The storm seems to be heading further west. AL might not be a good place to go.

That's great, Suzanne! It's smart to get out if you possibly can. What's with school? Closed?

Enjoy your "nothingness" weekend, Legs! :) Three hurricanes back to back is just unbelievable. :(

I haven't checked the latest maps. It's headed further west? I'll have to take a look. Sure don't want to go into its path!

Had another eHarmony match about one hr south of me but he closed it because of the distance. Darn! He looked and sounded good.

My DBF lives an hour away. We manage. I typically go there every Tuesday night and then he spends the weekend with me. I could see how this would be much harder if you have a child.

DBF is studying for his specialty boards - I am cleaning out my study. Needless to say, its not an exciting weekend. Its amazing how much stuff I have saved over the years. I have envelops from each class I took in undergrad. Almost all of that is going in the trash. Its a little harder to go through my stuff from grad school. I just finished throwing out all of my articles (two milk crates!) for my dissertation. Whoo Hooo!!

Legs, glad you are having an uneventful weekend. FM, stay safe - I'll be thinking about you. Sandy, sorry you are grounded too. :(

Well, it appears Ivan will graze right by Ft. Myers. It'll be another weekend of wind and rain.

A trip to VA or Dollywood sounds nice right about now. I bet I can get cheap airfare. :)

Hmm...an hour away sure beats going across the state. Guess he doesn't venture far.

TigerBear...Thanks for the condolences. LOL! I started a thread on here today with an article about a Honda Oddysey. I think I jinxed myself for even thinking about a new van. We went out this afternoon and the A/C is blowing HOT air. Just got the oil changed today. Will save the A/C for another day.

Barry...VA is great right now! :teeth: Tennessee would be nice, too.

Rightnow we are staying put. HOpefully it'll keep going west. Keeping fingers crossed. Schools are closed Monday already. They made that decision on Friday.

Sounds like a good plan. Prayers and crossing fingers it stays away!!

FLM- I'm glad you didn't head to Alabama!!!

Are you seeing any Ivan related weather in your area? I read there may be squall lines affecting your area later.

The hurricanes are unbelievable! And now TS Jeanne! This picture really got me...

They said Jeanne could reach FL's east coast by this weekend. :( Keep the plywood up, Legs!!! And it's just below hurricane strength. :(

I still have the plywood up. We're all aware of Jean here! When will this end? I know.....Nov. 30! :teeth:
