PW- How do you find someone to give you an appraisal on your house and does it cost you? Is that the same as a free market analysis that real estate agents do?
What did you do to prep your house to sell? Paint, shampoo carpets, etc.?

I know I've cleared out way over 30 lbs of clutter. I had two huge garbage bags of clothes from my closet that I got rid of that weighed more than that.
Yup, it cost me money and I looked up appraisal companies in the yellow pages. I don't know about a market analysis. Haven't had that done. Actually, I did nothing other than clean my house. It's an ongoing project. I had 5 potential buyers trapsing through the house today. The first one was here at 8:30. By 10:30 I had a contract!! Now I'm hoping that maybe something happens so he backs out. I don't need to move right now, can sit on it a while. He wants to be in here March 18! Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeek! That's not even 2 weeks! So I'm hoping that possibly the appraisal he has done will come in lower than he'll want to cover. We're at a number that's $15,000 more than what it appraised at for me. So if he wants it and his company gets the same value, then he would have to come up with $15,000 cash to make up the difference. I already told my realtor that I'm not dropping another penny. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm...

I want to join in on the moving party too! Best of luck PW that you get it sold for a price you are happy with. :D

Harley (in my pic) is on a diet.

I finally went to the gym last night. It feels so good! I posted on the WISH board that I bought a red dress this week that I want to wear on our first anniversary in May. I fit in it now, but I need to lose about 10 pounds to look really good in it. ;) PW, you have done so well with your weight loss, any words of inspiration? I know for me it is all about exercise.
The more the merrier! :teeth: And thanks!

Congratulations to Harley on the 6 pound weight loss! Keep it up, Harley! ;)

Isn't it neat when the dress fits? :) Congrats to you on that! I find exercise makes the difference also. I haven't been keeping up with it as much as I should. And I'm on a plateau since I'm not exercising as much. I know that when I start, it will start dropping again. Hmmm...maybe tomorrow! :teeth:

:earseek: Did you close him out right away? I got a reply back from them regarding the age thing.

Here you go...

"eHarmony's age range is determined by years of exhaustive research into the common denominators of successful, happy marital relationships. Dr. Warren's research has proven that the recommended age range is optimal for your success. We understand your concerns, however we encourage you to view this feature in a different light. If we allowed our members to select height, weight, age, etc., we would be offering the same value proposition as the rest of the services out there.

Our goal is not to provide made-to-order mates. Our goal is to encourage our users to think outside the box when it comes to mate selection, to concentrate on the 29 personality dimensions that determine relationship success and forget about the rest! Having said this, you are free to close any matches that fall outside of your own ideal range. We will not force you to communicate with these matches"

Now, appearance I can work with, but 50 and over is something that bothers me. And by them setting my minimum age range to 40 or 41, they're locking out anyone between 36 and that age that I would be more comfortable with. Sheesh! I'm not even notified of anyone in those ranges.

Can't you change the m in. to be younger PW. I know I changed mine to older.

I'm pretty sure I did and that's why I'm stuck with them up to 59. I'll have to try it again. Thanks!

FF...It's amazing that when you hit your 40s, you start looking at the younger ones. My husband was 5 years older than me. That WON'T due anymore. LOL! ;)

Heh, I look for younger ones too, but I think that's because I still think I'm 24!

It sure is quiet around here. I guess people have lives. Good thing; I can just get back to my cleaning so maybe I can go to WDW tomorrow. My younger cousin (24) came to town w/his parents to see the baby, so we were thinking about taking him down to WDW with this extra ticket I have that expires next month. BUT now he's sick. So, if he's feeling better, we'll head down. This kid has it so easy, having older siblings & cousins. When's the last time you got a free trip to WDW? :D

I've been busy with taking Brianna to dance. We went to the Aquarium yesterday and then out to dinner. Today we are heading off to WDW.

Detective guy has been calling. We had an interesting conversation the other night. He says that I have spunk and am cocky. This stems from me telling him my expectations and I just tell him the way it is. That's a first time that someone told me that. We are actually going to try to meet.

See ya'll later!

Jen...you're very nice to give a free pass to your cousin!! :teeth: :Pinkbounc I' hope he's feeling better. Okay...how many pounds of "stuff" have you gotten rid of now? ;)

Suzanne...what's your secret? You and Brianna seem to be at WDW ALL the time. :teeth: I would imagine that getting in the parks that often could be quite expensive in the long run. Do you have annual passes or something?

I took Richard to a local fair/carnival type thing yesterday. It was a lot of fun. Of course, he swindled me into taking him to Toys R Us since it was in their parking lot. But we came out empty handed! :teeth: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Happy Sunday everyone! We had fun Friday night. I think he liked the outfit more than the restaurant, but I'm not complaining ;) Last night we went to see 21 Grams. What a depressing movie; very well acted though.

So, who all has a spring break coming up? One more week of work and then I am off for a week!!
:Pinkbounc :bounce: I can't wait.

FM, I can't wait to hear what the detective ends up being like...Good Luck!

Doc, did you get to go to Disney? I would love to live so close that I could go any time I wanted.

PW & Legs, in some ways I think that age is just a number. I bet there are some guys out there who are older than you that have taken care of themselves and are a kid at heart. One of my best friends(she is 34) is dating a 49 year old guy - you definitely can not tell it by the way he looks or acts.

This afternoon I talked with a real estate agent in Virginia! The hunt is on!! Wooooooooooooooooo hooooooooooooooo! And she lives in the development right across from the school I want Richard to attend! How strange is that?! So the wheels are going on this. Yikes! My realtor here stopped by today. Told me not to sweat being out by the 18th. He's not even sure a loan would be approved that quickly. And the guy buying it is friends with someone down the street and thought he might have to stay there a few nights any way. Whew! I think the big thing is finding a moving company to do it in the timeframe. Plus I'll have to make a trip up there to look for something. But, hey! This is the way I do something. When I want to do it, I want to do it NOW, not in 6 months. Okay...on to Target! Catch you later.

WOW - that is moving fast! What will you do about your course load this semester?

Luckily, I only have 2 classes. My computer class...I'm thinking of asking her if I can do my Power Point presentation early. That's our final. If not, I'll have to withdraw from both classes. Eek! I hate to do it, but I really don't want to hang out here. I'm ready to go!!

It sounds like you are ready to go!!! I bet everything will fall into place for you. :D If you have never done a power point presentation before, my advice is to start early. I didn't start my presentation for my dissertation until the weekend before my defense. It was over 60 slides and took my many, many hours. It turned out fine, but looking back I realized it could have been a disaster.

There is so much talk on the WISH board about The Firm that today I went and bought the original Firm Body Sculpting System. I just did the Cardio Sculpt tape. It looks like it will be good - once I get the moves down and pick the right level of weight for each exercise. Anyone else doing Firm tapes?

Thanks, TigerBear! Yes, I'm hoping it all falls into place and goes smoothly. Tomorrow I have to call moving companies and see what I can set up...tentatively. :earseek: Everything depends on closing!! :earseek:

Actually, I have a few Pilates tapes and disks that I really like. And they seem to do the trick for me. Good luck with The Firm! :)
