Am there 2/4-12, early forecasts had the weather in the 70s, but current forecasts are in the mid and sometimes low 60s until the day we leave. Yeah, I know, that's not too bad. Of course, here in NYC we haven't had a proper winter at all; it is about 58 degrees right now. Kind of takes the excitement out of the February Florida getaway.

Last time I went in February it was awesome... left four days after the 2003 blizzard... left 22 inch snow to be in weather in the high 70s, even low 80s one day.

Oh well.. but the pressing question is... :) I've been trying to squeeze in time for a pedicure today to get myself some proper vacation feet for sandals and pool.... should I just blow it off?

You can never tell with the weather here. I say keep the appointment just in case. :goodvibes

Just be glad you aren't here today. We've been under tornado warnings all morning, and my rain gauge says we've received 4" of rain so far, and it's not showing signs of stopping. I can only imagine the folks at Disney are having a field day!

I'm right there with you Jen, we leave on the 15th and I feel the same way about the weather, it's not going to be the balmy weather directly opposite from our usual harsh weather, it's going to only be a few degrees warmer than what we've been having! Not that I'm complaining about that!!!
but you know what, any day in WDW is better than a day in NJ! Just a little bummed that we probably won't be going to the water park!
But I digress...get the pedi, it will still make you feel vacation-y!

I'm definitely going to be missing the water park.

Well, I just see that the sun is out here in NYC and it is 62 degrees, so when I go out I can preview next week's weather! I'm kind of blanking on what to pack.

I read an article that starting next week the weather patterns will be back to normal. Even though Orlando will be in the 60's , NY/NJ will also be back in the normal (30's and 40's). The whole eastern 2/3's of the country had a record warm January. I am going to South Florida in the middle of the month and I would not be surprised if miami will not hit 70's some of they days. Last year it was in the 60's as highs when I went.

I went to orlando at the beginning of Jan. the 1st few days were pool weather, the last day, it got cold.

Weather in February/March appears to be getting more and more unpredictable, and the morning's in particular at times pretty cool by Florida standards.

I'm right there with you Jen! We leave tomorrow and I was getting so excited last week looking at the weather....and then the more I looked, the lower the temps kept getting :(
I, also, am trying to be positive, but it is going to be warmer here today (in Maryland) than it is going to be at Disney on Sunday!!! I even cancelled our Fantasmic package because I don't want it to be 40 degrees while we sit on croncrete and watch Fantasmic.

We were also looking forward to doing Blizzard Beach--my three boys are total fish. I had to break the news to them that we probably won't be doing it (unless the last day, Friday, is warmer).

And get this--my best friend was there all this past week and had a few 80 degree days!! Talk about bitter. LOL I talked to her today and yelled at her for taking all the hot weather!

We are used to going to the Carribean for our winter trip, so I am really having to have a talk with myself about this. I am glad we won't be hot since all of us literally wilt in hot, humid weather, but I am also worried about things like getting wet on Splash Mtn and Kali since the day we are due to go there is it only supposed to be in the low 60's (and we'll probably go on those in the a.m.).

So I'm upset for more practical reasons than just not being able to "lay out"--especially since we won't have any time for that anyway with my schedule :)

p.s. I meant to tell you to ignore weather.com and look at accuweather.com since their temps are a bit higher! LOL :sunny:

We will be there the at the same time. Mid 60's is just perfect! Wear your sneakers and forget the pedicure - just have fun!!

You never know with Florida's weather. I say keep the pedicure

What could be the downside to going ahead with the pedicure? You might get to show off your pretty little piggies, and even if you don't, you'll still have had an excuse for a little extra pampering. Go for it!

I know it is a bummer, but get all pampered before you go even if it will be in the mid sixties. No, its not the 70s or 80s, but 60s are perfect for the parks! You are going to have a super great time. You're in WDW, there are minimal crowds and it is going to be cold in the northeast, so you'll definitely come out ahead. The last time we went in late jan/early feb it was low 60s and we had the time of our lives and our dks were on 2, 3 and 4 at the time! We did splash, kali and sat in low 40s for fantasmic and wishes-and we were not really dressed for it those nights! Maybe the water parks are out, but maybe not. You never know! Have a wonderful wonderful time. :sunny:

It's a La Nina year, weather in the Southeast is going to be kooky, we felt the early stages last year with the hurricanes, it's going to be a wild ride for a while.

Beats the floods in the Northwest though.

Going Off topic here, but I am the only one who couldn't help but chuckle when seeing a thread with a title that starts out with "Okay, I'm easy..."

Glad to hear I am not the only one bummed about the weather next week. My hubby keeps reminding me we are going to Disney and to stop whining!

ntengwall: we leave from BWI on Monday morning and I thought the same thing today because it is in the mid sixties here today and I always want to go to Disney when it is cold. Again I know it will be cold up here while we are gone ,but it still is a bummer. Of course our local radio station was doing a radioathon for St. Jude hospital and I was listening to the parents telling their stories of their sick children, crying and thinking what a terrible person I am to be upset about sixty degree weather for my Disney trip. I am trying to keep in perspective!! Hey it looks like it will at least be sunny!

Have a SAFE trip everyone.

Yeah, I got a little excited there too. . .

I hear you. We leave in a week and I was hoping for some warmer, pool type weather. Oh well. Of course we were there last year the week of MLK's holiday and it was cold. I mean as in frigid, wear your winter coat, hat, mittens and scarf cold. The last day of our visit it warmed up. None of us were prepared adequately and had to buy mittens and hats and fleece sweatshirts to wear.

It could be worse. You could be here now. It has been raining all day. It is supposed to do this for the next 24 hours. After that, a cold front come through. We even had a tornado watch today.

If you do get the pedicure.... make sure they don't exfoliate off yuor calluses! I had a great pedi before our June trip and my tootsies were soooo soft---- too soft! and I ended up getting blisters!
Have Fun!
