Okay.. If you had to give up one of these "services"..

Well I don't go to the nail salon so that doesn't count. I get my hair trimmed like once a year that really doesn't count either so probably phone service- I hate talking on the phone plus you could always stay in touch via the internet, writting letters or in person. I don't watch a lot of tv but I would hate it if I didn't have Turner Classic Movies. So my pick is phone service.

I would give up cable. I really don't care about television shows. I am not giving up the nail or hair salon unless absolutely necessary.

nail salon, although my hair salon visits are very rare.

Never had nails done so wouldn't miss that, a familt friend does my hair every couple of months, so guess that doesn't count. So I would go for cable as need phone and internet!

Claire ;)

Ignoring the nail and hair salon choices, I'd absolutely ditch the telephone before Internet or cable television. I barely am willing to have a telephone now. Talking on the telephone sucks. Watching television, and chatting on the Internet are actually fun.

I would give up the nail salon.. then second would be hair salon and third would be the basic cable..

I wouldnt want to give up the phone or the internet..

I'd take a little from 2 pools. I never get my nails done, so that's not an option. I'd stop getting my hair professionally colored, I'd just do it from a box. BUT I'd never stop going to my stylist all together, he does a great job with the cut. I'd drop from my fancy cable to just the basic $9.99 service that gets me ABC, NBC, CBS, etc...

I do my own nails so nail salon is irrelevant to me. I could easily give up cable TV as I rarely watch it. I started to say I'd give up the phone as well; however the more I think about it, I do need it to keep in touch with DH and my girls when they are out, to make appointments, etc. As for internet and hair salon - those are necessities in my world, not luxuries! :)

Well, I'm in this boat now.

My choice? I had to drop the nail salon that I was going to on a weekly basis. Killed me. I LOVED having gorgeous nails...

My next cut will be the hair salon. I have one more appt. scheduled for August, then I'm going to branch out and try coloring my own hair. Will still schedule a good trim every 6-8 weeks though. I just can't afford the $100 charge every 6 weeks with the cut in pay we recently experienced. :(

After that, I'll have to look into cutting cable.

I can't imagine being without phone service or internet. I'll cut out the food before those two! :lmao:

Which would be the first "service" that you would give up?

Internet
Cable (Basic)
Hair Salon
Nail Salon
Telephone Service (the ONLY telephone service you have)

Again - hair salon and nail salon don't exist in my world - LOL - so for me it would be the basic cable.. :)

I have never ever had my nails done, so nail salon probably doesn't count. DH usually trims my hair, but I do go have it professionally cut about twice a year or so. I could easily that up, so for me it would be hair salon.
For me, phone, cable (I have satellite, really), and internet are necessities of life. I get the twitches :scared: when the internet is down for only a few hours.

Nail salon.
I had acrylics for several years and finally took them off a couple of months ago. I have gone back for pedicures twice since then- before a wedding and before our cruise. I could have done that myself but wanted a little treat.

I could do without internet or cable. To me those are luxuries although I use both everyday.

I can't give up the hair salon. Maybe go less frequently but can't cut it out completely.

Can't give up the telephone either. I don't talk on the phone a lot at home but wouldn't feel safe not having access to call for help if needed.

I never go to the nail salon and don't get my hair done alot, so those are out. However, I would drop the internet in a second, especially if I still had access to it at work. I would not get rid of my cable or telephone!! NEVER!!

Well, I've never been to a nail salon. Since being laid off in January, I haven't had my hair cut or colored at a hair salon (and I am definitely missing that). The next thing I would give up with be Cable.

I'm a 50 year old woman who has never been to a nail salon, so I guess I could "give it up." :rotfl: My haircuts cost $15 and I do my own coloring. I would hate to give up those haircuts, though, but it would scarcely impact the budget. I don't have or want cable.

I do like my internet, but I'd give it up before cutting off the phone.

I don't do the hair or nails thing. Maybe once every couple of years I get my hair trimmed, that's about it. I've gotten my nails done professionally when I had a gift certificate. Cable would be the first to go of the remainder, except DH and I already gave that up this summer to help defray some other costs.

However, phone and internet connection are absolute necessities for my job and cannot be given up at all. I'd have to give up heating the house in the winter first.

I rarely get my nails or hair done so cable is the first to go!
