My new title should be Pin Jinx.
This is getting discouraging. (Which makes me appreciate Mr Cockerell all the more! lol :jester: )
I recently turned a gal into the USPS for mail fraud.
Now even more recent I have three sssllllllllllllooooooowwwwww trades. Two will probably eventualy make it in.
Now the newest topper is I ordered some pins from cheappins. I used my debit card and was charged for them. (Paid through Paypal; received my payment confirmation.)
I knew cheappins moved. So didn't think anything about not getting the pins yet, even though I was charged for them.
Decided to e-mail cheappins tonight. Reply -- They show my order was for someone else! :( Oh criminy.
Sure I will get that straightened out too. But think I will am under a dark pin cloud.
Think I better hang it up for awhile.
When you whine, you whine alone. ;)

Aaaaahhhhh .... poor Barb :(. Hope things get straightened out soon. I cannot tell you the last time I did pin for pin trade ... maybe with you?

I stil have some here to mail to you! :jester:
You have kinda fallen off the pin wagon, haven't you? Thrown us over for scrap bookin'. ;)

I rec'd a letter yesterday from my Dizpins soldier. :bounce: I had sent him two large boxes of stuff -- included LOTS of snack foods, batteries, books, shavers, baby wipes, chap stick, DISNEY plushes....
The only thing he commented on -- The Stitch plush (with guns pointed). He said he sleeps with it since it reminds him of his three year old son. aaawwwww
And he has to protect it, as others have tried to kidnap Stitch!
Isn't that funny -- Of all the things I mailed -- and Stitch won the honorable mention.:smooth:

Well -- I got another response from cheappins. Thank goodness I wrote asking about the shipment.
Never an apology...
They blamed Paypal.
"The problem was PayPal did not notify us you gave us money. They
accepted your payment and charged your account. The did put it in our account. However, they never told us. Since they never told us, your order got deleted automatically because it was never closed out."

hhmmmmm.... Maybe it's just past my bedtime. ;) I have ordered from cheappins prior with no problems what-so-ever.

Well, at least it was easily resolved. Wish my bad or slow trades were handled as prompt! :jester: ;)

One of the very first orders I placed with cheappins, the Paypal part got confused, too. They got it straightened out, then FedEx took a solid month to bring me another order (that happened to be THE first order I had placed). I was frantic, because I was so new, and I emailed them a LOT. They stayed calm, and replaced the order that we assumed FedEx had lost. When FedEx finally got around to bringing it to me, I emailed them and invited them to re-charge my credit card (which they did).

But now I either use a credit card or my Paypal Debit card, that wasn't fun even though it all worked out in the end.

(Do newbies get tags?)

I just think this is odd for a company on how this is being handled. I am sure it will be taken care of. But...
First I wrote asking about the order.
Their reply was they show that order number belonged to someone else and asked if I had my Paypal receipt, and pretty much assumed I didn't.
But I did. I forwarded them that. (Which made me wonder if they shipped my order to someone else.)
Next they blamed Paypal and said we don't have your oder.
(Okay -- but you have had my money for well over a week. )
So I wrote and said I was charged, gave the dates, etc, and said I would need to contact VISA and have the charge reversed.
Then they replied they were going to ship my items the next day (yesterday -- Thursday) so if I had it reversed I would have to pay it again. They did find in their records they had received my money from Paypal.
Okay fine. I left it alone.
Then I come home from work yesterday and have another e-mail from them. They need to know how much of each item I ordered, as this order was deleted from their system because they showed I had not paid it.

I just think it is very poor record keeping for a business to have. I work in accounting. Obviously their checks and balances are either not balanced or there are none in place. I think they should have known without me writing they had received money from me for an order.
And seems odd (and bad) that an order is just deleted from their system. You would think it would stay in their system for a reasonable period of time.
This is around my sixth order with them and the first time I have run into any problem.
Anyone can make a mistake. But I don't think pointing the finger, not apologizing and not keeping good records is the best way to run a business.
But that's just my thoughts.

(I got a TAG! THANK YOU, Tag Fairy!)

I've ordered from them several times, too, and that's the only problem I ever had. But when they sent out the email that they were going to be moving, I am almost sure they said something about starting out in one corner of a bedroom or something like that. When I had my problem, I went into meltdown because it was a large order (to me) and I couldn't seem to get answers. When they did answer me, they were unfailingly polite; to the point that I felt guilty about the way I was acting.

However....I have consistently gotten the impression that their website is far more sophisticated than their shipping/order filling department.

The tag fairy has been very busy!!..

Eddie has ordered from cheappins several times, and paid though paypal, and has never had a problem, but my daughter is having a horrible time w/ just paypal...they froze her account just after she had the money from a big sale deposited, and told her they were freezing her account until she proved she was she...they have sent every kind of identification to them, and after 2 mos. they still have her money..they told her it was ok for people to still pay her through paypal, she just couldn't take the money our until they were satisfied that she was she how very stupid...seems paypal has a class action suit against them for just that type of thing..search for paypal, and you can see some horror stories..so far we have had no problems...so far....

And it all right for her to deposit money into her account, but not withdraw...RIGHT!!! Like I'll do that :smooth:
sooo good luck on your transaction..hope it works out well...

Donna, was that recently (like since eBay bought them)? I have heard of that happening to a LOT of people, but it was a while back. I just keep thinking that if they wanted me to prove who I was, I'd have to hop on a plane and give them a little more information than they really thought they wanted.

But that's just me...I never claimed to be sweetness and light, ya know.

Well, a large portion of Paypal is here. You can hop a plane and visit me too! ;)
Besides, they had to pay for those nice new digs somehow! :jester:
