our reservation for All Star Music Family Suites.....

I was really happy to find a AAA rate and then saved even more with a 30% pin code so it DOES really pain me to cancel but I simply cant justify staying there for $145 a night when I have Cypress Pointe (3 Bedroom) reserved for $72 a night. I have a phone call into Hotelopia to modify my existing reservation as some of the days I reserved we WILL be staying at Pop Century for Free Dining.

I hope I dont change my mind again..........

I wont change my mind - I wont change my mind

Think of the washer/dryer they have

I wont change my mind - I wont change my mind

We arent even doing Disney Parks those days and will be so much closer to Seaworld.

I wont change my mind

Please help me not change my mind?!

Don't change your mind. It sounds like you will get the best of both worlds! Have fun.

I have stayed on site before, but with family owning timeshare it is so much cheaper to stay offsite through a get-away week.

We stayed at Cypress Pointe Grandevillas last June. The room was nice, and my DH who usually does the driving loved how easy it was to get around from there. He insisted when we were booking again this June that we stay there. My friend was at a value. It took us less time driving than the buses did for her.

The washer and dryer are great. I went home with only pjs and the clothes on our backs dirty. I was nice to have space, especially for afternoon breaks. It was also nice to have some privacy when you want it.

It will be OK! Remember, you are going to Disney and Seaworld! Any money you save can go into the kitty for your next trip!:cool1:

I cant believe you said that!! We think scarily alike!! How is it possible that I am 4 months away from our trip and am already thinking of putting money away for the next trip!!!

Thanks.....

We were scheduled for 8 nights at POP in november, the total was over $800, i found the best western lakeside, and got it for $29 a night (the total was not even $300) that is way over a $500 savings. DH said it did not matter to him where we stayed, it was up to me, but in my mind i just cant see spending all of the xtra $$ just to stay on property.....

love both!

need both!

you have to add the $10 per day parking fee - but still you are ahead moneywise staying offsite.

would never stay at Disney unless doing Disney. there are far too many cheaper and sometimes better alternatives.

Stop doubting yourself. You're doing the right thing. At least try it and see how it goes. Go in open minded and you will see it's a great trip when you stay off site too. You will love having so much space. I personally like drinking fresh-brewed coffee in my PJ's while the kids are still sleeping. (That alone is worth paying for car rental and parking.) My kids like having their own room and tv. dh likes having our own room with a door that locks. something for everyone. :goodvibes I'll never go back to cramming 4 of us in 1 room until we're empty nesters. (well, except on cruises and at US/IOA but that's another story.)
have a great time.
ps. we are all always thinking of the next trip. that's why we're here. ;)

You're going to love CP!!! The only time we stay onsite at WDW is when we're getting something like free dining. Otherwise we can't justify the cost. And, we know that Free Dining isn't actually free, but for our family of 6 it's a good deal. We stayed at CP in a 3 bedroom last year and LOVED it. The Volcano Pool was great and the room was amazing. Have a great trip!

BTW, how did you get such a great rate at CP? We may need a room for 1 night. TIA
Tina

I dont even need to worry about the $10 per day because I have an Annual Pass. There are soooo many places I have researched to stay in and only so many days.....I actually had CP booked in 2006 but changed it. I really hope they let me keep the reservation at the rate I currently have with only 5 nights.....I am waiting to hear back.

I got that rate through Hotelopia and used a code I found on another message board that is frequented by mostly the British.....they wont let you do it for only one night though....I found out that you need at least 5 nights for the rate I have.

Isn't Cypress Pointe timeshare only or can anyone make a reservation there?

It is timeshare, but they put unused rooms out to some of the various online places to fill the rooms.

I get to use it through my aunt. She gets 12 getaway weeks a year with her timeshare. She is able to get the week and put it in my name without affecting the week she has at her home resort. In this case, I log in to her account, find where I want to go, and she books it. Again it is rooms that are available at timeshares all over the country. They get cheaper as you get closer to the date.

How was the western lakeside? That is really reasonable!!!

I have ressies for this november 2008 at BW Lakeside. I am hoping that it is a nice hotel. It has good reveiws on trip advisor.

In addition to distress inventory, I've seen a member of the resort Board claim that there are some owners with very large ownership stakes who rent out their owned inventory through some of those channels.

We have stayed on property several times. Four years ago we went to tour a timeshare resort and just fell in love, so we bought. It was the best decision we made since we are there all the time. We figured we have saved so much money by not staying on property. We are going in August and I priced it out staying on property and it just blew my mind! You are cramped in the rooms and with the villa's you can relax and enjoy yourself. I think you made the right choice and I hope you enjoy your vacation.
