Tuesday...
Magic Kingdom day!! WOO HOO This was our first time renting strollers at the parks. It went smoothly. DH waited in the search line with Boy and all the bags, while the girls and I went straight for the strollers. Med size line that went quickly.

I was impressed how well the double strollers moved. Looking at them you would think they are clumsy, but they are quite smooth. A double was a bit small and at times the girls complained, but a simple reminder that they could be walking put an end to it.

I finally got the girls to go on Pooh this trip. We went on it way back in January of 2001 (I think, see siggy) and it scared them so much, Maddie refused to go on it again... I had to talk her into it this time... Afterwards Maddie says.. I thought that was scary?? Yes Missy you did... so much so, we havent ridden it for the past 4 trips... Really mom? That wasnt scary.. I said, becasue you are getting older. And your very experienced in going on rides. The dark on TTA used to scare you and you needed a light to go thru the tunnels, now you know it is just a tunnel. The same will be true for Tower Of Terror (which she did last trip and liked it but said she wouldnt ride it again) It is scary to you now, but it wont always be scary. It is a ride. A ride made to look spooky, just like Space Mountian looks like your flying thru Space and Pooh takes you into the pages of a book... all rides here for people to enjoy. Not to hurt you. I think she got that, this trip.

It was hot...

We did a lot that day... did I mention my friends were late?? And again, they were miffed that we had already seen Mickey's Philharmagic and Peter Pan by the time they got there. How is that my fault I ask you? We zig zaged a lot and DH commented that on the next trip we should bring peddometers to see how far we walk in a day. It worked well for us. Kids were happy as long as we were moving. We used FP well and rode everything we wanted to, with little wait. I have set the standard high for the girls... We were comando in the parks and it worked, as long as we can push them around! LOL We learned that Comando while in the parks is the way to go... esp since we normally only hit the parks 2 or 3 days per trip and then only for 3-5 hours at a pop.

Much to my surprise the kids didn't have any major meltdowns and we were able to stay at MK until a bit after 3. Abigail got to ride BTMRR and Splash Mountian for the first time! She likes BTMRR but wasn't sure about SM. I wanted to buy the pictures, but in both cases our photos got 'washed' away. Very bummed. Sooooooo if any of you out there like to flip the bird or lift your top on photo rides, please don't. I have Maddie's first ride pictures, but not Abigail's. :-(

Just had to share this photo... my score on buzz

Tuesday night was DH and I's date night.... Our friends were late and so we missed hooking up with NancyIL and others for a tour around the WS and the F&W fest. :::::sigh:::::: I miss the meet I tried to pull together.... Eric, a CM at AK who posts on the DIS was able to hook up with us after work, and we ended the night with him at Jellyrolls. It was nice to meet Eric. Sweet guy. Oh wait, that is prolly bad to say, guys dont like to be refered to as sweet... Hmmm Okay Great guy. He will be successful in his endevors.

Inserting another gripe here... While I was franticly trying to get ready to go out, C is talking on the phone in the living room. Madeline was 4 feet in front her on the balcony, and climbed up on a chair. Maddie is old enough that once on the chair her hips we level with the banister. I walk thru, see her bending over and call out to her. She climbs down and she is instruted to never do that again. We hug. All of this occurred directing in front of Cynthia and it never dawned on her to say anything... So now I feel like I must cover every base with Cynthia... We dont allow the kids to fall off the balcony or cook dinner for themselves... and if you give them a bath you are to stay in the room with them at all times... no phone calls no nothing... She is miffed, but if she didnt think it was necessary to stop Maddie from climbing up on the balcony what else would she not think is dangerous.

Now some of you may be thinking... not her kids, but she is being paid to help us. It was agreed upon! We supplied, at their request, a detailed itinerary, including what was expected of them, where and when meals, parks, etc were slated. Example.. Chef Mickey's dinner at the Conttemporay followed by Magical Gathering cruise. Dinner at 5:00. Cruise until 830pm. Simple. (ha) I suppose I should of included stopping my children from hurting themselves.

Both DH and I loved the F&W fest... This was his first time, my second. I tried a lot of wine this trip because of my dinner at V&A's a couple of trips back, made me brave to try new wines.<grin> and he ate a lot. I suppose I shouldnt of have a fiesta Margarita after drinking several glasses of wine, but it was fun and we were drinking and eating around the world! (sorry Eric for meeting me slightly *cough* tipsy! LOL)

We learned several important things on this trip. Tuesday nights lesson was a big one. Never, ever get 'toasted' at WDW when the kids are with you. The next day sucks big time. There I said it. LOL It was fun, but it wasn't worth it. One of my fave quotes is I am still young enough to do everything I used to, but old enough that it takes twice as long to recover from it.

laughed at your tipsy remark........I am not used to drinking and had a margarita in mexico and almost couldn't walk a straight line and I threw half of that away......ROFL.......thanks for your trip and your night

It was fun hanging out with you, even though you were slightly tipsy. (now ... as far as that picture of me ... well, let's just say that there's a reason I try to avoid being in front of the camera)

DH and I learned the hard way about "drinking and kid-ing" our last trip. We over indulged at Biergarten (he the LARGE beer and me the wine sampling--large samples, they were). I will tell you we were ready for a nap an hour later and it was only 3pm in the afternoon! We both looked at each other and said "what were we thinking....". Never again, until we go Kidless.
Iced Tea and Diet cokes for us now on the trips.
Thanks for the chuckle.

I have a brother who is always late to everything. I hate being late so I can not really understand why someone can always be late. Wouldn't you think you be on time just by accident a few times if you were not purposefully trying to not be on time???? We fixed this problem by telling my brother a start time that is one hour earlier than it really is. He is now always on time and believe it or not he has not caught on that we are fibbing. Maybe this would help in the future if you ever have to rely on these friends again?

I can assure you I will never ever, ever, rely on those people again. Done. The whole twisted seatbelt conversation sold me that I no longer need these people in my life.
