Okay, if I don't start this now, it will never get done! ANd warning... poor spelling and gramatical mistakes abound in this report. Not enough time in the day to fix everything! LOL

Cast: Laura (me), Thomas (hubby) Madeline (5) Abigail (3) and "The boy" Charlie (18 months)Staying at BCV
Cynthia and Derek (AKA TDI's explained later) who were brought along, at our expense, to help us with the kids. Staying at Pop Century
And Rounding out the Grand Gathering group
Tina and clan (DH, DS 10, DD5 and DD2), staying at OKW on points I helped her rent, Tina is a friend I met online when I was pregnant with my oldest way back in August of 98, we both have May 99 babies (our GG name was May Moms Rock... lol sad)We have met once before at a May Mom meet in DC. a couple of years ago. She also does Disney regulary and they looked into buying SSR points this trip (my first referal!)

We flew Southwest this time, mainly because we can pre board, with the extra benefit of it being a lot cheaper than most other airlines ($174 RT) and since we were spring for our 'help' I was cutting costs wherever I could. Southwest was fine, slight delays, but over all no problems. Our time challenged help, however, was very lucky for the 20 minute delay out of Chicago, if the plane had been on time, they would have missed it. This is after both of them stayed up ALL night to pack... yup, they were up all night, but still managed to be late for the flight. A sign of things to come.

How can one be up all night and still be late?? It is beyond me. She said something about work calling before they left with a tech call (she does computer support) But if they had left when the needed too (9-9:30 via train) everything would have been fine... She said the phone call came at 9:30, so that is why she was late, yet when I talked to her on the phone at 9:40 they were making sandwiches which they would then eat, before heading out. I advised them against eating in, as we were now very aware of the time ourselves since our friend drove 10 minutes towards O'hare instead of Midway! The twists and turns in her stories are fascinating... really... Hmmmmmmmmmm (lots of vents in this TR)

The kids were great on the flight out. One little problem with Charlie and his ears upon landing (he was sleeping and woke up in pain) but we wont make that mistake again! We rented a van and a car from Dollar. Cynthia could drive since her license was suspended (groan) so Derek and I registered as the drivers.

Do other Wives always drive or am I alone in this??

Anyway, no problems with Dollar. But next time, I will request any color other than white... seemed like every other mini-van was white in and around WDW.

We arrive at BCV around 6. Our room was ready AND we got all our requests! PLUS we didn't have to change rooms at all during our stay!!! I called MS the day before, and we were still moving! I did a little happy dance at check in... much to the CM's dismay! (Okay so it was a big happy dance! We didn't have to move on our last night! YIPPEEEEE!!!)

We got lost, yeah yeah it was me who got lost... and we headed into the BC. A quick spin around and we found Ariel! The girls LOVED her, esp Madeline.

Our room was 441, smoking, 2 bedroom dedicated 2 queen. The second bedroom was off to the left of the entry, with the rest of the villa to the right. The two bedroom we had at VWL had the second bedroom off the living room and I liked that configuration better than this one. Are all the BCV's this way?? VWL??? The Living room had a two chair balcony, as did the master. Windows in the second bedroom. Large vanity area in the second bedroom also. Large enough for a pack n play or air mattress, although the air mattress might block the 'head'.

I didnt take a picture on day one so a lot of candy is missing! It was lovely. I arranged for Tina to get one too.

We (I) changed the girls into swimsuits and DH took them to the quiet pool, then Cynthia, Derek, Charlie and I head over to Pop Century to check C&D in... BCV was booked solid as was BC, and again since we are springing for everything, I cheaped out, used my AP for a room discount (I know shame on me) and figured Pop was close enough to BCV, that it wouldn't be too bad (hardy har har)

I was impressed with Pop Century and when the kids are older we may just stay there on weekends. They were assigned the 80's. Looked cool at night.

After they dropped their bags off, Cynthia and I went food shopping with Charlie. He was about done..... so it had to be a quick trip. A surprising long line at the deli counter held Cynthia up for about 15 minutes and I had to come back for her 1/2 thru the store... Charlie was really done.... 3 lolipops were not enough to keep him happy.... Cynthia kept wandering off, comparing labels, taking her sweet time, while I am dashing around trying to remember everything on my list that was sitting in the Villa kitchen. UGH. We make it out of the store saving $8.47 with my Winn Dixie card.

Then on the way home....

I ask Cynthia how she liked the Dodge Stratus they rented. SHe said she liked it, but there was a beeping that kept going off and she couldn't figure out how to stop it. Beeping I asked... Yes beeping, from the seatbelt... Hmmm I thought... could this car have rear sensors that felt their luggage in the back-seat maybe they need to click the back-seat seat-belts to stop the beeping.... but then it occurred to me... Did you have your seat-belt fastened? Um No she said.... And I look over and she didn't have her seat belt on in the van. I flipped. This has been an ongoing issue between her and I. She doesn't wear her seat-belts. At this point I don't care if she wears them when I am not with her, but gosh darn it, I don't want to watch her fly thru the window... face smashing into the glass...how dare she put me or anyone else in that position. Oh yeah, and there is the LAW! (here in Illinois anyway) Plus she has been ticketed for it.... Something she cant afford to deal with, not to mention her LIFE! Grrrrrrrrrrrr But instead of simply buckling their seat-belts to stop the beeping, they search thru the owners manual looking for a way to stop it. The icing to this cake.... I will admit I did yell at her for not wearing her seat-belts regularly, and she says she always forgets and needs to be reminded.... Urrrr Umm..... ISNT THAT IS WHAT THE BEEPING IS FOR!!!!!!!! Is that twisted thinking or what.... ::::::shudder:::::::

I digress…. Can you tell…

Funny about the white vans....we drive to WDW in....you guessed it...a white van! And guess what? The Mickey antenna topper does not help identify the thing at all at WDW!

Thanks for the report!

I thought I'd chime in here, briefly. My wife rarely drives on our trips. Dad is the designated driver. There was, however, one occasion when I couldn't get her out from behind the wheel. That was when we rented a Lincoln Towncar.

Thanks for the trip report!

to Disney .....in one piece....thanks for the report

I have a May 1999 baby, too! And I am the registered driver every time we rent a car...

I'm the designated driver too! However, on our last trip we rented from National and since we are emerald club members both DH and I can drive without an extra charge so he drove back to the airport. Of course, he was looking for the shortest line through the toll booth and before I could stop him he drove through the Express Lane and then proceeded to stop until the car behind us beeped his horn. Sometimes I think he does those things on purpose so I won't let him drive. LOL!

Thanks for the first part of your trip report!

Donna
