Thursday.... Universal Studios day. Friends are late.... but it works out since DH, Madeline, and Abigail have to have their pictures taken for their 2 year AP's. The girls were not sure about going to US. They wanted to go back to MK. A little grumbling... but not whole hearted. A nanosecond after we walk into US we are greeted by Popeye and Olive Oil.
Both CMs were wonderful. In character to the hilt. The girls were won over! They loved US!! LOL They also met Jimmy Newton, Tommy, Dora (huge my Abigail she is Dora's #1 fan, it was so cute to see them together)Oh and Woody woodpecker (the chicken as the girls kept calling him... lol) Autographs were big this trip and I am glad none of the charaters at US gave us a hard time about the Princess autograph books.
We hit Jimmy Newtron first, then Shrek, after Shrek, Boy falls asleep, and the girls wanted to do JN again. I take boy, DH takes the girls and tell Cynthia and Derek to hit Mummy with the express pass. We will do lunch when we meet back up. 45 minutes later still no sign of C&D so we head over to Monster Cafe and order lunch. We are almost done when C&D show up. They are miffed we didn't wait for them. WHatever. We did twister, which was a bad idea for the girls. Sorry sweeties! Then walked over to Woody's play area. Fun Fun Fun. We only had about 40 minutes there before C&D were to take the kids to Margararitaville for an early dinner and DH and I get ready for HHN. (Derek commented later that they played too much Buffet there... )Kids had a blast with them... They let Charlie play in the fountains and he was the hit of the crowd. He is a cutie. They all had a great time at Citywalk.
DH and I went on to Halloween Horror Nights. Whew... what a good time that was. The place was packed but our VIP tour brought us to the front of every line each time. It was wonderful. Rode Mummy 4 times that night, and did a couple of the houses twice. We missed the parade though... and I am bummed about that. Next time I will request that we watch the parade instead of doubling up on houses. (they are better the first time thru IMO)
When we got home, C&D recount the story of their night... and I look over and see Charlie's shoes on the floor. Yup, soaking wet. Dripping soaking wet.... They had done nothing to dry his shoes. Once again I am flabbergasted. If your shoes are soaking wet don't you attempt to dry them when you come home? I do my best to towel dry them and then I set them in front of the fridge... hoping the warm air duct will dry them by morning. Nope... still damp. I didn't say anything to her. At this point I have written them off. Shame on me for thinking that they would help... I mean I took their agreeing to this trip as a commitment. We would pay, they would help with the kids... They wanted a detailed itinerary of times, places, and what we expected of them. I provided them with that, they agreed to it, yet none of the times were met on their part. Instead it was a huge waste of time. Us waiting for them... shouldnt have, my mistake, but I kept giving them the benefit of the doubt.
Before they left that night, Cynthia asked if DH could pick her up in the morning for breakfast, since apparently Derek didn't want to go, she cant drive (becasue I wont let her on a suspended license, she would drive regardless), and it is hard to get from resort to resort by bus... I told her no, it would be too much of an inconvenience. She was miffed. I said, it was simple enough to take a bus to Epcot, just allow 10 minutes for the bus to come, 10 minute bus ride and a 15-20 minute walk to the back of WS. So she should leave by 9 am. She said ok. I tell you... the nerve... I have to not only get myself and the kids ready in the morning but also pack up all the snack, blankets, backpack, sunscreen, juice boxes etc, and I can be on time... but she needs a ride? Ooooh I am steaming! They leave silently.
