That's been my motto for years. I have the One Year Rule. Baring antiques or photos, if I haven't used it in a year, it goes out either via yard sale, donation or trash.

Even so, I still think I have too much clutter.

DH and I adopted this policy starting about a month ago. We are still in the process of going through the house, but I'm afraid that even once we're done, we'll still have too much stuff. The biggest problem is the kids' toys. I figure we can put up with them a few more years, because they will be growing out of them pretty soon.

Simplify, simplify, simplify. That's what I'm trying to do - simplify my life in a variety of ways.

That's exactly what I've done probably for the last ten years. If you haven't used it or worn it in one year got it goes. But not in the trash. I call Good Will or one of the charities in the area.
