Okay Experts - Help me get to Cape May Breakfast

I planned a Cape May breakfast for our last day. Epcot has morning EMH that day and opens at 8:00. We're staying at the Poly. If we take the monorail to Epcot around 8:00, will we be able to walk through the International Gateway to get to the Beach Club to make our 8:40 ADR? I ask this because World Showcase will not open until 11:00.

Also, is this a pretty direct route to get to Cape May from the Poly? I'm trying to avoid the extra expense of a cab.

Just making sure it's possible, otherwise, I will make a later ADR. Thanks for any and all help!!

Yes, you will be able to get through the World Showcase to the International Gateway. Most of WS will be roped off but there will be access since all of the Epcot resort guests must enter that way.

It's a very long walk from the front of Epcot to BC. I'd take a bus to DHS and then either walk or take the boat from DHS to YC/BC. The walk is about 20 minutes, about the same as the boat ride. We prefer to walk. This is a shorter route than walking through Epcot.

Don't forget you will also be using your ticket to do that - just in case you don't have hoppers, Epcot then will be the only park you can go to that day.

We stay at the Beach Club and had to find transportation for the reverse- breakfast at CM at 7 am (July 2009). We used a taxi. The total was around $15 plus tip. There were four of us in the car. Takes about 15-20 minutes, so worth the money to alleviate the stress and to cut down the travel time at that hour of the morning.

I honestly didn't find this to be true...Maybe 10-15 minutes in walking once you get through the gates at the gateway, if memory serves.

CathieArms, you must be a fast walker! It always takes slow ole me about 20-25 minutes from entrance to exit, but I'm usually pushing a stroller and keeping my other DS focused on walking!

It's so worth it to take a cab. We had an 8:05 ADR at Cape May and we were staying at AKL. It was a quick cab ride and the lack of stress made my life so much easier! Enjoy Cape May! It was a fun breakfast for us!

Thanks AuroraMeansDawn, I'm glad to hear it is worth the trip with the taxi. Since I'm paying OOP for this breakfast, I was trying to avoid the taxi fare.
So, I changed my ADR time to 8:05, since we'll be taking the taxi anyway, I don't need to eat later to allow for as much travel time.

We have never had breakfast here, My DD 4 is a huge Minnie fan, and the only other place to eat with her is at Chef Mickey, which we've decided not to do again. Glad to hear it was fun, that's what it's all about!!
