Hi! I have been lurking for weeks and am jumping in with my first question.

I am a new EC member. I am trying to rent a car from Feb 1-9 using an AP #. The best discount I get is 178.20 for a Intermediate 4 door car. I got a way better deal using priceline through Alamo for a van last year. I paid $25 a day for one. Is there something I am doing wrong? I have a code from Sams for one free weekend day and also a code from National of 5042947 and the best discount I get is $16.00. I clear my cookies each time. I can't believe how confusing they make it! Can anyone help?

I believe the free weekend day from Sam's is for weekend rentals only. Read the small print, it is tiny and, naturally, contains the most important stuff.

Last year we all got better deals on rentals. Like everything else, prices go up.

Try the contract id# 5007125. Are you a member of BJ's? They have a coupon for 20.00 a weekly rental.

You can also try www.mousesavers.com for other rental codes, coupons and contract id's.

I have a car rental for 8 days, EA, for a total of 156.97 using the EC contract ID shown above and the 20.00 coupon from BJs.

Running your dates with the above combination I got a total for EA of 156.90 for your rental.

The same reservation using the vacation outlet coupon : http://www.nationalcar.com/servlet/DocHandler/directlinks/index_vacation_outlet.jsp would be 161.90.
