Okay.....absolutely true story.....I was hit by a bus in Monaco.

Wow .... you really ARE Superman!! ::yes::

Glad you're ok. I think I've discovered that the only place where pedestrians have the right of way is in North America. Everywhere else, you're just extra bonus points in the arcade game. :drive:

Wow, that is so scary! The only thing worse would be having to go to a hospital over there! Glad you are ok!

From the travel shows I've watched on tv, it seems like the rule is for drivers in the far parts of the world to drive crazy then get out and yell at each other in an accident. Sometimes money changes hands on the spot. Maybe he expected you to yell back at him and ask for money? :confused3

What a crazy awful experience!! Sorry it ruined Monaco for you. I hope that nothing else bad happens on your trip!
So glad that you are okay.

First....let me start by telling you that I am fine......really....I'm okay.

Again....I'm not hurt.......but I was hit by a bus in Monaco.

More later.

Glad to hear that you missed a near disaster. That driver's behavior was inexcusable.:drive:
If it were me I would have faked unconsciousness - I wonder if he still would have yelled.
Did you finally get to the James Bond casino?

Sooooo...why did DisneyKevin cross the road?

Because..( insert response here )

Glad you weren't hurt DK!

Where Kevin's involved... there's always a story...

Glad you're ok... I'd sue - for the whole place... it's only about a sq. mile... :thumbsup2

AMAZING! No matter where you are for the rest of your life, you have to tell that story to everyone. Only don't actually tell that story. When someone is giving you a sob story that really isn't a sob story, you should just look at them and say "Ummmm, were you ever hit by a bus in Monaco? Because I was. Now shut your whining." And that's it. No more explanation.
Also, you should sue Monaco. Tell them you want jewels.

:rotfl2:

First....let me start by telling you that I am fine......really....I'm okay.

Now the story.

We were in Monaco / Monte Carlo yesterday and walking through a park on our way from a shopping area to the casino (the James Bond casino).

As I'm walking (and using a cane because my knee hurts), a bus makes a turn into the street where I'm walking along the edge.

The driver sees me. I'm almost seven feet tall and wearing an orange shirt.

Instead of waiting, he keeps coming, but has cut the corner so tight that there is no room for me. I didnt even have time to get on the curb.

He bumped me hard enough that he knocked me down. Luckily, there happened to be a patch of very soft grass that softened my fall.

To add insult to the whole thing.....he got of his bus and yelled at me in Monaco-ese (or French). I was too shocked to notice.

He cursed me out and never even asked if I were ok.

It kinda ruined the rest of the time we were in Monaco.

I was scared and mad and we just wanted to get out.

Again....I'm not hurt.......but I was hit by a bus in Monaco.

More later.

Kevin! Thank God you're ok!!!!!!!!!!
when i think what the possible outcomes might have been!!
i can't believe they're as rude in Monaco as in France. I had thought they'd be different there! Getting out of the bus and yelling at you. That's what would happen in France.
but thank god you're ok!!!!!! i'm so sorry! How frightening that must have been. I can't even imagine!!

Pedestrians in Europe are target practice for road users ;)

Not making light of your situation Kevin, just sadly an observation where even now I run across the road while in Europe.

Hope that you enjoyed the rest of your trip as this was something you were really looking forward too :goodvibes

this is so true....we saw a little boy hit hard by a mercedes as we all were crossing the street in Paris..
the little boy was in front of us and we were all crossing on our light...
the mercedes came whipping around a corner and plowed the boy into the air....we were so shocked....there was a mass of people crossing....a group in front of us....and then a big group with us, and the boy was sort of in the middle of the two groups..
and again, we had the walk sign....
and this beautiful black mercedes just mowed him down....well not down, as i said, he flew into the air....shocking....
europe is indeed a dangerous place for pedestrians....but i didn't realize that monaco was part of that....i thought people were more refined and polite there.....guess i was wrong!

Take care Kevin!!

I guess in Monaco you need to stay out of the damn road. :lmao:

Sorry to hear that happened to you and so glad you're okay!

:scared1:I hope you got the number of the bus and are going to report this guy. He's definitely a menace.

I am happy, ecstatic, relieved that you are okay!!!

I would also like to Thank You...always working hard to get good stories for our amusement! I know it may not be amusing yet, but I am sure it will be by the time you retell it to us!

It is only 4 more days until we get there, please stay safe!!

I am so glad you're okay! Hopefully you won't be stiff and sore later.
