Ok you guys...its on, the LIVE Nicki and Todd..Summer edition!

Oh Nicki, I am so sorry to hear you had such a disappointing start to your trip, food wise!

So I was not the only one who had a less than stellar experience there. The breadpudding we had was as dry and tasteless as yours! I ended up pouring the butterscotch, or whatever sauce it was, onto the spoon and eating it that way. :lmao:

I just hope that you will love Cali Grill as much as we do! If you get a chance ask for one of my two favourite waiters!!
Have fun and enjoy your week at THE WORLD!!!!!!!!! :cloud9:

Count me in as horrified by your Raglan Road experience. It sure didn't look like mine. My friends ordered the calamari back then, and it did NOT look like what you received.

I'm wondering if they lost their good kitchen staff and replaced them with inadequate help.

I can't believe how gross your food looked from RR. I ate there on Mother's Day and everything was really tasty.. maybe they were just having a bad night. Either way, that's not an excuse, especially when you drop $90 for dinner. Just think happy thoughts.. many more delicious meals to come! Looking forward to reading the rest of your reviews! (and pics:goodvibes)

So sorry you had such a bad night! Yucky food, and the AP issue:scared1: I can't believe that. Tomorrow is a new day, though, and Cali Grill is waiting:cloud9:

Sorry you had such a horrible first night out. It has to get better from here.

If you can please show some pics from POFQ, we're thinking of staying there this fall. Looking forward to the rest of your reviews. :goodvibes

Ugh, what a terrible start for your trip! :headache: We have eaten at RR for both lunch and dinner and other than having awful server both times, the food was quite good. We adored the bread pudding and none of us remember it looking like that! Seems they either changed staff or had a really off night. No way the fact that you didn't eat your food should have been ignored!

I am confident Cali Grille will be a much better experience! :flower3:

Sounds like a rough start to your trip ... weather and RR:scared1:

DJ's DH and I had toyed with trying RR but your photos and review but a nail in that one for sure.

Hope the weather improves ... I'm sure Cali Grill will be great tonight!

I'm at a loss for words, horrified! That calamari was NOT what we had, not to mention that pathetic excuse for bread pudding.....:scared:

I'm so sorry you guys had such a horrible first night meal at RR.:sad2:

If only they knew how revered your dining reviews are here on the DIS, perhaps the service would have been better, Nikki! ;)

That stinks about the blech meal -- it made me a little nauseous just reading about it. We will NOT be trying Raglan Road on any future trip. I am with Todd -- crossing that one off my list.

Don't you just love the peace and quiet of POFQ? We just love it there for those very reasons!

Maybe we'll do a split stay in 2011 (next year we're doing a split stay with AKL). I just love the thought of the queen beds at CSR now, plus it's just "home" to us. I'm surprised about the parking lot being full...we rent a car every year and have never had a problem. Oh well, bring on more food porn for us tomorrow.

That would be a nice split stay!

Oh, soooo sorry Raglan Road was so awful! I just today made a reservation for it in September...DS & his friend really want to go there for both the food and the entertainment. Wonder if they do a better job with the more traditional Irish dishes? Or are they still on the menu even? Now I seriously have to debate this one. Was the entertainment any good?

Sounds like you're still having the same crummy weather we had -- raining every afternoon/evening just about last week. And not the usual quick downpour & it's over stuff, either -- it was the puddles up to your ankles in places kind of rain. Was hoping people would have a better time this week.

We loved the smallness of the POFQ, and the quietness...and parking close to our building. Yes, the place is looking a little shabby, but we kind of took that as part of the decor, just like the real French Quarter. It has always been clean, anyway and maids were quite attentive. Hop that boat over to DTD one of the days you're going solo -- it's really relaxing and convenient to the Marketplace .

This morning the sun is shining, DH is snoring and all is well with the world! Maybe RR had an off night and you will have a better time? The music and the dancing was great but other than that I dont think I can get Todd to try it again. Plan to walk around POFQ and check it out today...we had the quietest night ever, no neighbors upstairs or next to us, the only turbo toilet was ours :rotfl:

Boy, what a crappy start for you! That stinks all around!

I think you should go back and complain...bring in your pictures and see what happens...you never know, right? :confused3

Tomorrow will be better, I just know it. (It can't get much worse!)

Thats an idea, bring my camera over and say hey, your food is BLECH!

Niki how dare they not talk to you when you dont eat the food? If the clamari was that bad, you didnt get ice for your ice tea - and they ignore you? You both were very very tired!

Well, at least things can only go up from here...

Enjoy the time - Weather is looking good for Orlando - no worries for the end of your trip - you'll have plenty of us cheering you on what to do!! :rotfl2:

Thanks for confirming, altho we are Irish, and dh makes a great Irish Soda Bread, we do not want any pucks or doggy poo :lmao:

I know usually I say something but we were so tired and hungry and it was so loud in there that we just dealt with it...looking forward to better meals!
We have an Irish restaurant where we live and the food there is fantastic!

That pasta from Raglan looked horrible. I ate there once, and had a decent meal, but I do agree that WP is better.

Looking at it now I cannot believe we didnt send it back!

Nicki, so sorry to read about your terrible experience at Raglan Road.

And as for the bread pudding ... oh, the humanity! That wasn't any bread pudding I've ever had at Raglan Road ... that was leftover french toast from yesterday's breakfast stuffed into a coffee cup (there weren't any coffee grounds in there, right?).

I agree with a previous poster ... you ought to take those pictures back to the restaurant and speak with a manager. The entire meal looked disgusting and that makes me very sad for you and for the rest of us, too.

Here's hoping the rest of your trip and meals are nothing but wonderful.

Nope no coffee grounds :rotfl: For the rest of you dining at RR I hope my experience is nothing to be repeated!

Those meatballs looked just plain wrong. Sorry you had to start your trip with petrified dog poop....things can only go up from here, right? Hope tomorrow is a better, more magical day!

Thats right, it can only get better...no more icky food for me!

OMG that looked horrid! Sorry to hear you had such a horrible experience! I really hope it gets better from here on out! :goodvibes

It better or I am going to McDonalds! Just kidding but I got to tell ya last night at DTD McDonalds was jammed and had a line to the front door......at least you know what you get when you eat at McD's!

Oh Nicki, I am so sorry to hear you had such a disappointing start to your trip, food wise!

It seems we have the same tastes! Cali Grill countdown starts now! We have 5:45 ressies and I cannot wait!

Count me in as horrified by your Raglan Road experience. It sure didn't look like mine. My friends ordered the calamari back then, and it did NOT look like what you received.

I'm wondering if they lost their good kitchen staff and replaced them with inadequate help.

That could be, new kitchen staff but after all the food we had there is was evident that items are sitting under heat lamps just waiting for people to order them....that aint cool

Wish I ordered a cocktail, then the food might have not made a difference! :rotfl:

So sorry you had such a bad night! Yucky food, and the AP issue:scared1: I can't believe that. Tomorrow is a new day, though, and Cali Grill is waiting:cloud9:

You got that right, put it behind me and get to eatin'! Now if DH will just wake the heck up!

Sorry you had such a horrible first night out. It has to get better from here.

If you can please show some pics from POFQ, we're thinking of staying there this fall. Looking forward to the rest of your reviews. :goodvibes

Plan on doing that today, the sun is out and I cannot wait to scope out the grounds! So nice and quiet, quieter than any resort we have ever stayed in, including the deluxes!

I dont see why places have to change up a good thing! Messing with recipes or changing menus....Cali Grill should be da bomb and that is all I can think of. I told DH I was nervous about trying SAI and Nine Dragons too...hope they are not as bad as RR.

Sounds like a rough start to your trip ... weather and RR:scared1:

DJ's DH and I had toyed with trying RR but your photos and review but a nail in that one for sure.

Hope the weather improves ... I'm sure Cali Grill will be great tonight!

Uh oh I hope my review didnt mess up your plans....I know we didint like it and the 2 ladies next to us didnt like it but by the time we left at 8pm the place was jammed with people...mostly at the bar tho ;)

I'm at a loss for words, horrified! That calamari was NOT what we had, not to mention that pathetic excuse for bread pudding.....:scared:

I'm so sorry you guys had such a horrible first night meal at RR.:sad2:

This is weird, everyone is saying that my pictures look nothing like what they had...I bet RR changed recipes and such..although if it aint broke dont fix it right? DH is glad we are getting calamari from Tonys this week, it was awesome there..unless they changed it :rotfl2:

If only they knew how revered your dining reviews are here on the DIS, perhaps the service would have been better, Nikki! ;)

Don't you just love the peace and quiet of POFQ? We just love it there for those very reasons!

I should have said, hey peeps....if I dont like the food I am going to let all of the Disers know it so make it good! :lmao:

DH is a person that refuses to give a WDW a second chance..if he doesnt like it then it is crossed off..he says there are way too many places in WDW that offer great food to waste time and money on ones that dont....

POFQ is awesome so far, granted we have not seen much of it but it is the most relaxing place we have stayed in, mod or not we just love it! To sleep through the night without lots of noise, doors slamming, kids yelling, toilets flushing is a great place to me!

Sorry your first meal was so bad.:sad1: I think you have great taste in food, and I think I will be crossing off RR from my list for next year. Hopefully today will be a better day!!:goodvibes

How can they call it "ice tea" with no ice?

Sorry that the meal was such a disappointment. Give Todd a little nudge so you can go get some Beignets!

Long-time lurker.
First-time poster.
Love your dining reviews!

I am so anxious to hear about your Cali Grill experience tonight. We were there in November and had a WONDERFUL meal. Are you going to be brave and order the sushi? It's fantastic!

WOW! That was a bad start! :sad2: I have to say, I wouldn't expect pasta and meatballs to be good at an Irish Pub, but your dish was bad  I truly hope you have a wonderful experience at the Cali Grille. It's one of our all time favorite meals! :yay: I have Tony's down for lunch one day. That veggie calzone Todd had looked good!! :thumbsup2

So happy to hear you're enjoying POFQ. A dear friend of mine stayed there last August and just fell in love with resort. She phoned me several times while she was walking the grounds and just raved about the place.

Fantastic news about your extended stay!! :yay: I really liked the Swan! I've heard the diner in the Dolphin has really good burgers and sundaes - no ADRs needed for lunch. Just an idea.

So jealous you get a semi solo trip. That's my dream!! :upsidedow

Enjoy the sun! :sunny:

...

Uh oh I hope my review didnt mess up your plans....I know we didint like it and the 2 ladies next to us didnt like it but by the time we left at 8pm the place was jammed with people...mostly at the bar tho ;)
...

Nope ... didn't mess up our plans for next week:goodvibes

I booked all our ADRs at the 90 day mark and haven't changed one as DJ's DH and I have been married 25 years (next Wednesday) and unlike Todd he knows better than to mess with my WDW planning:lmao:

Maybe we will hit RR for a drink after dinner at the Turf Club Tuesday night:confused3

I do have to say that your awesome trip/dining reports have inspired me to THINK about posting a live report for this trip.

I'm in! I've avoided the Pre-Dining Report. I want to be surprised :snooty:

Hopefully today's meals will be better than last nights!

Eeeeeeeekkkkkkk! :scared1: I'm sorry you had a horrible start but I can't wait to read the rest of your reviews!

I was sooo bummed that I ran out of TS credits for my upcoming trip. I wanted to make an ADR at Raglan Road, but it was my last choice. I'm glad I didn't choose Raglan Road over the other restaurants I booked now! Since your dining experience wasn't so great- you know the best is yet to come! Have a wonderful time.:wizard:

I've always thought, "Hmm...I might like to try Ragland Road." Nope. Done. Off the list. What a terrible start to the trip - I KNOW it'll get better.

As for being nervous about SAI and Nine Dragons - I LOVED Nine Dragons...yummy!!! And the servers were really kind and accomodating - they were right there to help and bring anything we needed. SAI...our server was wonderful. The chips and salsa were tasty - as was the margarita. The atmosphere was nice - but the food we ordered...BLECH. It was not good. I loved the other parts but it wasn't enough for me to go back. Glad I tried it though - otherwise, I'd never known if I liked it or not...

I hope you have a great time there and can convince me otherwise.
