My kids love the Garden Grill, and I used to think not very many people knew about it. Well....I tried to get a ressie yesterday for the first week of May.(Last minute trip due to FREE DINING PIN!) and it is booked SOLID. The CM was amazed. She even checked to make sure there wasn't a glitch in the system. Does this make anyone else nervous? I'm worried this is a sign of crazy crowds.

The restaurant is only open for Dinner and is the only place to see Mickey at Epcot, other than the character spot, so it books up pretty fast.

The crowds will not feel like the 4th of July, but there will be people there, it is not low season.

I think it's b/c of the FD.. The same thing happened to us last year during FD.:( But we were able to get an ADR this year for August but I booked it weeks ago.:) Good Luck

No, it's not just because of free dining. Ever since they went to dinner only, it is a very hard ADR to get. If you don't call at 180 days, you are usually out of luck. Unless of course you get lucky and call right after someone cancels.

When we were there in January, we tried to get a reservation for an early dinner around lunch time and the guy at the podium was suprised that there was nothing available. He even made mention that you can usually get day of reservations. We go because my son LOVES Chip and Dale.

Thanks...I knew it was dinner only, but we still never had trouble getting reservations there. Often, it doesn't even seem very crowded. My dd loves Chip and Dale, and we even went for her birthday last year. Mickey and Chip helped her blow out her candles. It was AMAZING! I guess the FD really filled the place up! Oh well...we're in...even if it is at 8:00pm.

As for the food, it isn't my favorite, but it isn't terrible. Fresh, organic type foods like turkey and fish. My d10 loves their blueberry buckle. She can eat the whole skillet herself and she's a tiny little peanut!

Kind of off topic, but how is the food there?

we really enjoyed the food.
they serve bread with honey butter, follwed by a platter of turkey beef and substainable fish (we had mahi mahi) with veggies etc. dessert was a fruit cobbler. you can view the menu here on the Dis or allears

We went a couple of years ago and really enjoyed it! Planning on going back because DH really enjoyed the food!
I was a little worried because I had read a couple of reports from people saying the food had changed or was bland. :confused3 I'm hoping they were just bad nights becuase this was the only repeat request from DH and I'd hate for him to be disappointed. Anyone been lately?!

We have always had trouble getting an ADR at Grill Garden in December during FD. I just assumed that was normal.

Anyone been lately?!
We enjoyed our food in December. The fish was a little different, but still good. My only disappointment was the salad was dressed with Ranch rather than the yummy vinaigrette we had in the past. The salad was still good, but I can get ranch dressing at home.

is this place with chip and dale ?

In some 30 years of going to Disney we have never eaten at this restaurant. We dislike Chef Mickey for Dinner and this was the other choice.

Were looking forward to eating here, it seems to get good reviews.

I know in the past I had tried to get ADR and it was always booked.

I love it there, the food is so tasty. But this time when we are going we tried to add it as a ADR for my cousins bday (8) we loved it last time and it was not an ADR. we thought we would have the same luck but it is completely booked our whole trip, what craziness. :) so instead we are going to sci fi.
