OK, what is up with the vampire thing?

I just started back to school so I can't be on during the day, but it seems it might be the new craze, after the model/boyfriend/"merry"/kids/dogs things. I can even kind of understand those. But vampires???

Can someone explain to the old lady here?

I tried to figure it out too! I even sat in on a council meeting just to find out. However, they don't actually think they are vampires. But apparently someone makes them all vampires. *shrug* kids.

Vampires? Haven't heard of that yet. I can be kind of clueless sometimes, though. I'm still not completely clear on how people get dogs. Is it a player pretending to be a dog? Or do the people just decide they have a dog and pretend it's there?
