What are the parks like then? Anyone know..we are trying to get down either that week or the week after Thanksgiving.
We would miss the Christmas decorations though if we went before though..well i guess you tske what ou can get right..lol

I was always told the week before Thanksgiving was dead. However when we went that week a couple of years ago I found it to be quite busy. Almost, if not more so than school vaca. week. As for the xmas decorations they put them up that week so we got to see them. But it was still amazing seeing all the xmas stuff and eating Thanksgiving dinner in WDW!!

I actually plan my yearly Disney excursions for the week before Thanksgiving due to the deadness of the crowds. The longest wait we had in any line was about 10 minutes (for IASW). Last year we actually walked right on to RnRRC and ToT. The only draw back to it this year is we're going to miss the Wine and Food fest at Epcot (it ends they day we arrive :sad2: )

I was there last year Nov 10 - 18 and it wasn't too bad except the weekend we got there cause of food and wine fest

We're going Nov 9 - 18 this year and am hoping for it to be not busy!! :woohoo:

I have to correct something- In my post I was talking about the week leading up to and including Thanksgiving. Not the actuall full week before. Hope I didn't confuse anyone!

I am interested in this week too. We are arriving the 16th and going home on TG day. If anyone was there at this time I would love to hear your thoughts. Thanks!

Last year, we arrived the Saturday before Thanksgiving and left the Saturday after...It was great until Wednesday when the AK was pretty busy-but not unbearable. On the advice of a friend, we avoided the MK on Thanksgiving Day and had an awesome day at MGM. Do NOT miss the 3 PM parade at MGM...it was wonderful! While the park was busy, it was not gridlocked and we didn't have any problem doing everything we wanted to do. We went to see the Osbourne Lights that evening...it was a perfect day. We saved the day after Thanksgiving to go to Epcot to see all the countries decorated for Christmas. Remember that a lot of the Christmas decorations go up before Thanksgiving, even at the resorts, so you won't miss anything the week before...

In Dec 2004 we arrived the Saturday after Thanksgiving and that day was crowded and even a little on Sunday. Come Monday morning everyone left and the park was great! We stayed until the following Sunday and that week was just the best. Now the kids are in HS though and I just can't see taking them out for a week. If you can though, go for it~ :thumbsup2
