OK to do WOC Picnic when arriving to resort after 3 pm??!!

Question for all you WOC experts We are driving into California around 2 or 3 pm on a Thrusday. The group Im going with wants to do our World of Color Picnic package that day. If we arent able to pick up our dinners until 4 or 5 (after getting checked in and settled) will we get ok tickets? If I have read previous posts right, that color will most likely be yellow or blue (?) and then we will just want to make sure to line up for our show around 7 to try and get a good spot, right? Im just wondering if I should talk them out of doing this the first night. They are pretty excited to see it and want to start the trip off with it! Thanks everyone!

As long as you pick them during during the time window (forget what it is) you should be fine. But I would order the picnics online. If you just try to get some the day of they might be all gone.

Beyond that. Get in line early, shoot for a rail. Yes, it will be Yellow or Blue and you will be mixed in with Fasspass holders. If you are blue, I wouldn't use their wet zone as it if inferior to Yellow's. Personally, I like to be further back when viewing the show.
