As I am sitting here watching the Disney marathon on the Travel Channel, I'm wondering why they would have done this. Then it it hits me! I bet this is done to tie into a promo coming out. I know that the Travel Channel has done these little Disney marathons before. I wonder if they have ever been timed with other promos coming
out :scratchin

I can't help but think that this is not a coincidence!!!

I assumed they were showing the marathon because so many people are heading down for Easter.:confused3

I doubt the travel channel would run it to tie into a Disney promo, unless Disney bought a bunch of air time during the block. I hav enot watched any today, I set the DVR to record them and DD and I are going to watch them this week.

Bad news... they have done these "marathons" before. There's not a tie in. It's just programming. (Next week could easily be the "World Poker Tour Marathon")

And consider how these shows are somewhat outdated. ToD parade... I wish. ;) A promo would be featuring up to date features, like the current celebration, new features, etc.
More likely many of the Travel Channel staff is on vacation so they run a marathon of popular tapes.

I know they have done them before. I would love to see if when they have done them there was a big promo announced shortly thereafter. As for the content, there are alot of people out there who don't know that these programs are that outdated.

It's a theory - granted but pretty smart marketing if they did. They could have easily paid the Travel Channel to just show the programs, why would they need to do any more advertising. Think about it - what would be better to get people excited about going to WDW than a day full of programming showing you the best of what WDW has to offer?!?!

Some of the shows have been outdated, but some like the DCL one and the Behind the Scenes one that is on right now say that they are the 2002 versions, but actually have been updated and include current info. Maggie

You know what? You're a genius! I think your theory is bang on. I am currently reading the new book Spinning Disney's World by Charles Ridgway, a Disney press agent for 40 years. This is exactly something that Disney would do! His book is filled with things like this.
(Excellent book by the way if you like little inside stories about Disney from the beginning.)
