OK the storms here in WI right now are unreal...

We hope everyone is safe. The damage is unbelieveable. Roads are gone, houses are gone. Trees down, mudslides everywhere. Flooding is amazing. We were stranded for quite a while trees down on one side of our road and flooding on the other and the small town near us was evacuated. But things are so much worse in many areas of the state. Of course, lives are more important than roads or homes, although that can be devastating.

This is getting insane. How is it that some places got up to 5 inches of rain and we barely got 20 minutes or so of it the entire day/night???

I'm in extreme southeast WI, south of Milwaukee.

I'm so tired of the rain. tired tired tired.

I can't imagine what you are all going through - keep safe & here's some pixie dust to spread around pixiedust: pixiedust:

Up to 5 inches? I wish that's all we got. We had 12 inches in 24 hours then got more. Some people had 15 inches in that 24 hour period then had another 6 inches the next day. The emergency government in the Sauk County area, not sure exactly what county they were from, said it may be a 500 year storm. I'm not sure that is correct or not, but it certainly is a doozy. Again, I hope people are safe. Emergency government and highway patrol is asking everyone to stay off the roads if at all possible. Many roads around here are impassable and more are becoming so as the water continues to rise. Stay safe everyone

That five inches I mentioned was just last night, not overall. and according to the local news was the max anybody in the area got. :P

We had 9 1/2 inches in 36 hours or so last weekend but managed to skip out on all but a little yesterday, lucky us. I think we've already beaten the record in the Milwaukee area for June by a quarter of an inch and we aren't even quite halfway through the month.

It's amazing how much rain people have gotten, isn't it??

stay safe!! lots of hugs from the disers:grouphug: and lots of pixiedust...it always helppixiedust:

GBShorts,

I'm sorry I misunderstood. I hope everyone in your area is safe. It seems like the very heavy rain could be so localized. Over here in the southwest central area some parts got 10 inches in one event, some spots got 15 or more in the the same rain event. More coming this weekend, then hopefully we'll have four or five days to dry out. The damage is done though. :worried: Now we just have to help each other repair. to all who need them

Hooray, more rain this afternoon!

If we're going to break the record for June, we might as well shatter it, right? ;)

KJ-no prob ;)
