Ok, so If I buy Rental DVC, what next?

This is all new to me, but I have to admit it is very exciting to have found such a forum.

To determine if buying DVC rental points is for us (vs a AAA all inclusive package), I am assuming I have to add the following to the price of the DVC points:

1. Transportation from the airport to Disney and back again (or is the Express service included?).

2. The price of our park admission tickets.

3. Airfare, of course.

Is that it? Do we have the same access to 'in Disney' transportation as everyone else?

The only thing a point rental gets you is the room. (YOu don't have to add FL tax, though). So yes, you still have to pay for everything else.

You would get all the amenties of anyone else who stays at a WDW resort (except daily housekeeping service). So yes, you may use Disney transportation, go to EMH, have purchases charged back to your room (and sent back to your resort), etc.

If you are trying to compare a AAA package to a DVC rental, and you want as close to the same experience as possible, this is what I would factor for the DVC rental:

ME is free until the end of 2006 for all WDW guests and DVC guests.

The Dining Plan can be added to DVC point stays for $37.99A and $10.99C per day, just like AAA or CRO pkg.

Add daily housekeeping for a studio $25 per day DVC will only provide clean towels and remove trash on the 4th day if additional services are not purchased. If that is all you will need then deduct the $25 per day.

Transportation is included for DVC around the resort by WDW Transportation just like a cash reservation.

Tickets you can purchase from AAA or another discounter or even purchase AP's if you will use them enough.

So you could pretty much build a "DVC Package" and then compare to your AAA package price.

This will give you a comparison on price only, the terms and conditions of your DVC reservation will be the biggest difference. Cancellation policies are stricter with DVC rentals and payment may be due earlier with DVC. Please check the Rent Trade board and read the FAQ's on renting.
