If I missed a rpt, pls point it out, but I'm wondering how everyone fared at last night's MNSSHP? We are contemplating doing it on Halloween ourselves next year, so I'm curious what a "sold out" evening is like? Also, how are the other parks this week? And weather? Please tell all!

Hi there :) We weren't there on 10/31, but on Sunday night, 10/30. That party was also sold out and I couldn't believe how FEW people were there. When we walked up to pick up our tickets at Will Call, they had a sign out that said the party was sold out, and there were TONS of people trying to get through the turnstyles, so I was a little nervous. BUT, once we got past Main Street (where everyone was already gathering for the parade), there was no one. It was odd, we walked right on Splah Mountain, BTMRR, Space Mountain, IASW, etc...the only thing we stood in line for was Peter Pan's flight (about 10 minutes) and Haunted Manion (about 5 minutes, during Hallowishes).
On the bus on the way to the MK, a guy behind me was on the phone with someone inside the park and they said it was MOBBED. I don't think that person would ever survive going during the summer! As far as we were concerned, the place was practically empty. It was a lot of fun and we did everything we wanted to do and were out by 10:30 (we're 4 adults, we did trick or treat, but we don't go near Toon Town or stand in line for pics with characters, so I can't speak to how busy those areas might have been).

Thanks for sharing. I'm curious. What time did you enter the park?

I know what you mean when you say for you it was dead but someone else said it was mobbed. I've tried telling people that about Halloween night...I went Halloween night last year and in 2002. It all depends on where you hang out and also a little bit of planning and maybe a little bit of what you are used to. You could ask 4 people how crowded it was and get 4 different answers. The more crowded areas are Fantasyland and Toontown.

Anyway, thanks again for sharing!

we entered the park at 3:30 on 10/2 and one Christmas party we entered even earlier.. it just depends..

We were also there on 10/30. We were there at 9/30 and thought it was much more crowded at 9/30 than it was on 10/30.

We got in at 5:45pm, got some Casey's 5 mins before 6pm and they closed the restaurants down at 6pm - some people were ticked off that the counter services were closed between 6-6:45pm. Around 6:30pm we headed off to Tomorrowland which was now open and went to get our photos taken. It took about 10mins to go thru the line and get our photos taken.

Since we were there mainly for trick or treating, we didn't do many rides. We went to Toontown to start the treat trail and it was empty. We were able to leisurely walk the trail and grab tons of candy. Headed to Fantasyland around 7pm and it was still empty because most people were in Liberty Square (where they herded everyone). Then we headed out to Liberty Square and got a perfect spot for the 8pm parade right across from LTT. After the 8pm parade, most of the throng went towards Fantasyland but we went towards Adventureland where we TandT at the Adventureland treat trek. By then it was near 9pm, so we went back to Liberty Square to watch the fireworks. We had already seen Hallowishes several times at this point so it wasn't that big of a must do.

After Hallowishes, we parked our butts across the liberty bell area to watch the 10pm parade. (Can you tell we love the parade by now???? :rotfl: ) I love this parade. The HM grave diggers were the best IMO - they had their shovels and they would scrape them on the street in unison and sparks would come out from the shovels. It was the coolest thing!

After the parade you could tell a bunch of people were leaving and the lines were getting smaller - we did more T&T'ing and by this time the CMs were handing out handfuls of candy. At the MK exit, they had 2 troughs full of crunch bars and they were handing out bigger Narnia bags. We grabbed those and the CMs were literally dumping candy by the bucketful into those bags. We went home with 4 bags of candy (the bags were about 12"x17")- I'd say about 10lbs of candy!

I thought it was very manageable. We did Buzz Lightyear, Winnie the Pooh, Small World, PotC - all walk ons.

I usually enter around 4:00p to parties so as not to use a park ticket but I was just wondering when NHDisneyKid entered because she said it wasn't crowded when she got there.

You've entered earlier then 3:30p with just your party ticket? wow, I'm surprised. I was there Oct 2 too! We ate at Tony's for the first time and had a wonderful time...although I didn't like the rain. I also miss the witch flying down and the old parade but we still had a great time.

We were there on the 31st.. I thought the party was great..
We arrived around 6:15 and had dinner. ( we did counter service).
I was suprised how organized it was from previous years. One year we were there on halloween and they ran out of candy.. Not the case this year. I was suprised with the tickets being sold out that it wasn't as crowded had I thought it would be. My only disappointment of the evening was they changed the parade route which means the headless horse men doesn't run full speed over the bridge in Liberty.

It was crowded on Halloween, but very fun. The ride lines were very short when there was a line at all, but there were lines for candy, even in some of the out of the way places. Biggest crowds we saw were in front of the castle before the fireworks on late parade. We couldn't get near the villians meet and greet, but the little ones could see it clearly from where we were. It was well worth going, and the rides were great, but I did see a ton of kids and parents suffering from loong day syndrome. I would love to go every year, but will enjoy the memories of this one until our next trip out.

I was at MNSSHP on 9/30, 10/28, 10/30, and 10/31. I thought the crowds were highest on 10/28, then 10/30 was the next most crowded, then 10/31, and 9/30 was the least. This is based on the lines for candy and the amount of people lined up for the parade. We didn't do any rides during the parties.

We went on 10/28 and agree that it was very crowded. We went on a Sunday in 2002 and it was much less crowded. Even still, we walked on almost everything. The only waits we had were in Fantasy Land. About 10-15 minutes for Pooh and Pan. The lines for trick or treating were very long so we skipped the Alice in Wonderland path from Toontown until after the second parade and it was dead. They were giving out tons of candy. Based on advice from the boards we got to the turnstyles right before 4 and they let us in a few minutes after. They ticket attendant specifically said they let people in at 4PM, no earlier. He said the ticket machines won't even accept the tickets until that time. We were the first family in line and after they got the go ahead to let us enter it took a few times until the machine would accept them. We had a blast. Can't wait for our picture to come in the mail!

We were there on 10/25 and it was only moderately crowded. We walked on a number of rides, even later in the evening. There was plenty of candy and we saw some of the most adorable costumes on very small children. A "Dumbo" toddler was SO cute!

The fireworks were AWESOME, but I have to say I was disappointed in the parade. It was very short and the floats were...well...underwhelming. And it seemed a bit disorganized. People lined the street in front of the castle and waited for the parade to start. Then it came and went, leaving me with a feeling of "that was IT??". It was definitely NOT in Spectromagic's class. Maybe I was expecting too much. The fireworks helped make up for the parade, though. Having them burst all around you was amazing.

Hi, sorry, I hadn't checked this since yesterday...I didn't mean to post and run :)

We arrived right around 7:15pm. Like I said, there were TONS of people waiting to get through the turnstyles, but it really thinned out once you got inside. We stopped at Casey's and had our obligatory hot dogs and fries and then headed off for PotC. It was the first of lots of walk-ons. My father and I kept telling my husband and my mother to hurry up, we were cruising through the queues and it was fun! :moped:

Thanks for all the great reports guys! One theme I see is that the candy/picture lines were long. But, my question is did they move fast? When we did character pics on the cruise, the line was long, but we got through it in about 10-15 minutes. Now, I wouldn't wait that long for candy, but a pic w/a fav villain, maybe. I'd hope the candy line would move fast as all they are doing is passing it out, right?

I've done Halloween night twice; last year and 2002 and we focused on the trick or treating and I found that the lines went very fast no matter how long they were.

You can read about our experience on our TR thread for Timon & Darkrobe.
We had a blast considering how sick we were. As for the Headless Horseman; I am glad they changed the route, he went slower so you could appreciate the character more and try to get a good picture in; which is extremely hard to do.
We didn't do many rides b/c we were sick and the Haunted Mansion didn't open till 9:30.
I would highly recommend it for attending anytime in October, HaloWishes was awesome and parade was way better than the one in 2003.

We went on 10/2 and 10/7 and the picture lines were very long when the party first started... we got our pictures taken right after the parade (8:00). We had a watching spot right by a picture place so we could just run in after the parade... and there were no lines. I am sure that if someone skipped the first parade and got their picture taken during that time then there was probably no line at all.

We attended sold out MNSSHPs on Halloween in 2000 and 2003. We only stood in line more than 5 minutes a couple times. Some of the candy lines were long, but they moved very fast. The only “crowds” we encountered were in ToonTown.

I would highly recommend MNSSHP!

We didn't see any character lines or candy lines that took more than ten minutes. Ride lines were non-existant as far as we could see but we didn't try Space or Splash Mountains. Haunted Mansion was closed, which was a major bummer for some in our group. The only big crowds we were in were the castle crowds for fireworks and the late parade.
