ok so can i get feedback on transfers from those who have?

Ok so I understand the reasoning. Can those of you who have transferred explain who does what first? Payment/Transfer? and how did you feel it went? I am just a little nervous about doing so and want to make sure we are both !!!

i understand there is a a rule with DVC that $$ cannot be exchanged when you are transferring points. however, i see posts asking for transfers and the mention of funds in exchange for the transfer. has anyone done this and how have you fared?

Transfers are made for compensation all the time, even though Disney has a statement that it is not allowed. Disney does not enforce it, and probably couldn't even if they wanted to. Most feel it is just a legal statement so that Disney has absolutely no interest in any transfers should there be a dispute between the two parties involved.

Example: Person 'A' transfers points to person 'B', but person 'B' never pays person 'A' for the points. Person 'A' would have no recourse and can't go to Disney to try to get the points back due to lack of payment since there isn't suppose to be any payment to begin with.

That's why there has to be a lot of trust between members when transferring points.

I have transferred points twice to 2 different members on the "dis" it was very easy and both transactions went smoothly. I was paid both times via paypal. After the money was transferred to my account I called Member Services and had the points transferred to the other members number which they provided. Some folks do a three way call to MS but we did not in either case.

I have transferred points 3x and all went well. Every transaction I had payment first before I transferred.

2 were paypal and one was check. I waited until the check cleared 1st. All went smoothly
