OK PIZZA FANS TELL ME YOUR FAV"S PLEEZ!!

don't get your hopes up.

i am from nj and live in nyc, so i definitely know what you mean when you talk about good pizza! sadly, i don't think such a thing exists in the wdw vicinity. a few times, my family has asked the front desk about good off-site pizza places (hoping to discover a good local place) but they always name papa john's as the "best." on a recent trip my mother and i tried a sassagoula pizza at pofq, and it was truly awful. wolfgang puck's pizza and other restaurants' flatbread pizzas are usually decent, but it's not the same kind that i would usually expect to get at home.

the upside to this is that the pizza seems to taste even better upon returning home!

good pizza does exist in florida, though. the best that i have ever had in fl was at bizarro's, in indialantic on the barrier island. the italian deli near the dvc vero beach resort also has ok pizza.

We always go off-property to get our pizza. We like Flippers in Kissimmee. It's about a 15 minute ride from Disney.
Have to agree with other posters about Disney pizza. The pizza at Pizzafari and Pizza Planet is terrible. Not too fond of the pizza at Mara (AKL) either. It was like eating cardboard with sauce and cheese. The pizza window on the Boardwalk is rumored to have changed their pizza. They used to use pre-made shells but supposedly have returned to hand-tossed. I hope to try it on our next visit in May.

Pizza Hut delivers to all wdw resorts

With all due respect Pop Daddy....most of us in the Northeast don't consider Pizza Hut to be pizza.

I think it would equate to telling a southerner that Lipton dry mix is "sweet tea"

Or perhaps telling a western that Steak 'ems are "steak"

I was at the Boardwalk a few weeks ago and we ordered the pizza. It was hand tossed but mearly "ok." My kids ate it, and it wasn't gross but it wasn't great either.

SO TRUE!

I totally agree with you!

I got this press release today about Famous Famiglia:

Famous Famiglia enters the Florida market with its newest restaurant
opening in the Crossroads Shopping Center, located directly across the
main entrance of the Walt Disney World theme park in Orlando. This is
the first of 10 Famous Famiglia restaurants to open up under an area
development agreement with the Florida Eateries group of Tampa. "We are
pleased to have an opportunity to enter this vast market within the
Disney community, the most visited theme park in the world", says Paul
Kolaj, Famous Famiglia President.

Oh no!! Please tell me this isnt true!!!!! What will DH and the kids eat? They are true NY pizza snobs! No pizza for a week may send them all over the edge. :rotfl2: How about a Mc D's any close by?

One in DTD and also there are a few that are upper class MCD"S ......ask a CM...they serve the normal menu but then add in pasta's and such.....never been, but heard they're pretty decent....most people are shocked when they walk in thinking they're going to Mickey D's and find such a varied menu!
