I'm freaking out reading past posts that I should have read BEFORE I bought these!!!

I really really really wanted a non-agitator and went with the top load instead of the front load. I WAS excited about getting these tomorrow (my old Fridgidare died last Thursday after 8 years), but now I'm not so sure.

Somebody PLEASE help me feel better about our decision! :scared:

So, does that mean that you got a top load washer and it's a non-agitator?

We got the Maytag Neptune Stackable (Full Size) W&D. It's the front-loaded washer on the bottom and front-loaded dryer on the top.

We LOVE IT! It does a fantastic job and we love the space-saving idea of a stackable W&D without having to give up the capacity.

Good luck!

Thanks! Yes, It is a non-agitating top load washer. Here's keeping my fingers crossed!

If it is Neptune, aren't they all front load? We have had ours for a number of years, 5 or 6, and they are great.

I thought all the Neptunes were front loaders.

We have had ours for several years and love them.

No, they aren't all front loaders. You can, of course, still buy front loading Neptunes, but they now have a top loading version. It's pretty new I think. It's suppose to work the same as the front loading.

My daughter has had the Neptune set for 2 years now with no problems. She loves them.

I went with the front loading Whirlpool Duet. I'm sure your new Neptune will be way nicer than your old machine.

I saw the new top loader Neptune; I hope it does not have the problems that the front loaders have had. It looks interesting and maybe they went back to the top loader because of their problems with the front loaders.

We bought a front loader (6500) in Sept 2003. In February, the control panel went out and had to be replaced. I am not happy that we already have had problems with it. We have joined the class action suit against Maytag because it should not have problems so soon after purchase.

I hope your top loader will work better than our front loader. Personally, hindsight is so much better than foresight...I wish I had purchased the Kenmore instead.Sorry to be a bearer of bad news.

Who has had problems with the front load Neptunes? We have had the Neptune since they first came out, and we love them. They are definatey the best washer and dryer we have ever had.

I bought my Neptune the year after they came out. I love it! No problems.

Yeah that! We've had a set of Netptunes, washer front load, for 2.5 years now. Sure uses a lot less water than the top load.

AZKathy, Sorry to hear you had problems. Sounds like you got a faulty part. Didnt they replace the part? I bought one about the same time of year. It seems to workl fine except the delay an our I do not think starts its self after a hour. I need to double check it before the year is up. By these post I kinda wish I would have bought that insurance.

They replaced the part; took a week to get it in. That is a long time to go without washing for a family of five!!! According to the lawyers for the class action suit, there are problems with the control panel/board like we had and also with the door. I am going to check and see if we can still extend the warrantee; I think that can still be done.
