We just got our 2nd week through skyauction...the first was Orange Lake. The second is

Vacation Village Parkway...

Anybody been?
Do you have suggestions for room requests?
Anything to look for?
How far is the drive to the parks?

Thanks for any info...

I toured this resort just to see if I would like it. I'ts nice, High rise buildings, courtyard pools and the last I saw, there was lots of construction going on. Quaility wise, it's very nice. More modernly decorated than Orange lake. As I remeber, maybe a little more luxuroius too. I'd say that park drive time would maybe be a little quicker than from OL also. It's hard to find, on the left hand side of 192 coming from OL. It's away from 192, so you'll have to look for somthing like a sign that says "Parkway" not the full Vacation village Parkway sign. If that make sense! Hope this helped.

I stayed there last October as my timeshare exchange. Very nice well-maintained resort. Beautiful pool area. There are grills for use also. Units either have full kitchen, or partial kitchen. (Partial kitchen also has a hotplate for cooking) Kitchens are very modern. Laundry is in hallway and is coin-operated. Living area is large and bright, with patio/porches. Vacation Village at Parkway is the last turnoff on 192 before Rte 4. It is located across the street from the entrance to Disney's town of Celebration. You are about a mile away from Disney main gate.

Hi!

What exactly is included in the partial kitchen?

Thanks,
jan

Everything except a stove and a large frig. There is a scaled down refrigerator, but not a mini frig. and a hot plate stored in the cabinet. There is a microwave, full size coffee pot, toaster, blender, dishes, flatware, corkscrew, can opener, saucepans, and enough counterspace to work. Very nice for two to four people. There are also very, very large bathrooms in both types of units. Laundry is in the hallway, and costs $1.00 to operate for both washer and dryer.

Thank you SO MUCH for you detailed reply! This information will be very helpul in making a decision.

Ok... we picked a partial kitchen unit from Skyauction. Now this is going to sound dumb... but does anyone know how to cook on a hotplate? Can I boil water? Can you tell I have never used one of these before?

Don't use the washers if you value your clothes and don't expect the dryers to actually dry the clothes...Don't ask:rolleyes: I probably just had VERY bad luck.

The rooms are nice but the couches are not very comfortable.

The check in manager has been putting me off since we stayed there in FEB 2003 and had complaints.

The location is very nice. The building was clean. The pool was being shocked so we did not use it.

The partial kitchen was nice but we had the 2 units and did not use it. I would boil the water in the micro or coffee pot.

Hope this helps...

Not knowing anything about a partial kitchen's refrigerator, does it have a freezer?

No jaccuzi in the partial but a nice standard tub.

Yes the fridge is normal size and had a freezer.

I was researching (can't get enough of that! :p ) and found this thread.

In your opinion, would you stay there again thru Skyauction??

If I would choose 2 brm., would we still get a "partial" kitchen and not a full kitchen?

Does the 2 brm. have washer/dryer IN the units or are they still in the hallway??

Thanks for the info. I hope your problems got resolved with the manager. I'd love to know your opinions on the resort now that some time has gone by and undoubtedly thought it over and over. :D

I would if THAT manager was not there...and no, nobody ever contacted us about our problems and she stonewalled me at every turn...Just my misfortune I guess.

If you book a 2 bedroom you get the Full AND partial kitchens...Good for 2 couples.

Ours did not have a washer and dryer but some do...The machines out in the hall were awful...

Hope this helps...Skyauction is such a good deal that even with the problems, it was still a very nice looking resort and was clean.

photo bear....

what was your check in day at V V?

we had a friday check in and were in a newer unit with stacking washer/dryer

just wondering if the check in date has anything to do with where you are placed...

I think it was a saturday but I will check my old documents when I get home...
