Just booked Airtran nonstop from Allentown to Orlando for October dates for $59 each way!!! :cool1: Thought it was a great deal until I get here & I know someone is going to say there was a coupon floating around out there!!! Go ahead.....tell me....I can take it....

I flew Airtran non-stop both ways last year, and paid $59.00. I called my dad, and he asked me if I actually had a seat IN the plane or was I on the wing?

Personally, I think if you can fly anywhere for under $100.00 in this country, it is a bargain.

Hooray for you! We're booking AT out of Allentown for Nov. Right now going down is $59 but coming home is $98...yikes what a difference it will be for 5 of us! I'm wondering if we should just book the flight down and book the one home later on????

As far as I know there are no Airtran coupons good for October right now (I booked one a few weeks ago and looked everywhere). If one comes out you can use it for seating assignments or luggage.

So if we book now we can wait to reserve our seats til later? or do we pick our seats now and then they credit us the coupon/voucher amount? Once we book will we be able to see how full the plane is??? We'll be traveling with my in-laws so there will be 7 of us so I need to make sure I book it right!
This will be our 1st time flying AT and I'm trying to price out our trip with all their fees.(We've only flown JetBlue and Southwest before)

The last I heard from Airtran (we also are using them in June) is you pick your seats at check-in. They do not assign seats ahead unless you pay a small fee.
We did pay the fee two years ago when we used AirTran because we wanted our daughters with us on the plane. I wish I could remember what the total cost was, but it wasn't drastic.
Good luck!

I think it's $10 per person per seat reserved. We have our 3 kids with us and I know they will want to sit with us and their grandparents. I was just wondering if when I pay for the flight will I be able to see how full the plane is....or won't it show me how full it is unless I pay for fee to pick seats?

That's what I think too!! :thumbsup2 But you know someone always finds something better!!

That sounds like a good idea!! If you wait, the price might go up on that one too.

I didn't know you could do that. I thought you had to choose seats at time of booking. To use it for luggage would work though! thanks!

I'd call to check if you can wait to reserve seats. I still think you have to reserve & pay for seats when you book the flights. :confused3

The fee to reserve a seat on a flight is $6/person. I feel it's worth it. Yes, you can see how full the plane is buy clicking on the "seat" of the flight you're looking into before you book the flight. When you're in the process of booking & have gotten to the part where it asks if you want to choose seats, if you click yes, it shows a "picture" of the seating. It shows all seats & indicates which are available & unavailable.

You can add and pay for seat assignments any time after booking until 24 hour checkin. You should be able to use the $10 coupon to pay for part of it. Airtran now has a tiered system to their seat selections. $15, $13 and $6 price ranges depending on what seats you select.

Thanks for the updated info!! :thumbsup2 I just booked & didn't even notice the different price ranges!! I guess I just chose the right seat! :goodvibes So you can go back into your reservation to add your seat, pay for that seat PLUS use the coupon? If you already chose & paid for the seat, can you go back into the reservation & use the coupon? :confused3 I tried to do that last year & it wouldn't let me. So I called & the rep told me that once a reservation is made, you cannot go back to add anything. You'd need to CANCEL for $75 & rebook!!! :scared1: uh....NO!

No changes after the reservation is made, this includes adding a coupon. So the rep provided you the correct information. They have been providing credits for price drops though.

Well not exactly. They will credit the difference in the fare you booked and the new price of the fare. No voucher for another flight. The credit appears in your account online to be applied to a future booking. No free flight.

Really??? I am going to book today then. I found nonstops from BMI to MCO for $83 each way and was hoping for a $10 coupon to apply for each of us each way (savings of $60) but with that info, I should probably just go ahead and book!

Realize that you won't get a refund, only a credit for a future flight. Also they can change their policy at any time. They have changed it twice in the past year. Just make sure if you book you are willing to pay the price you paid. Don't count on a change or expect a credit.
