Is it an impossible and foolish thought to plan a last minute
trip to Disney over Christmas week and hope to
get any sort of fun ADRS?

any Comments would be appreciated, would
be flying from Minnesota. Thought it would be
good to take advantage of last time 2007 dining
plan.

What do u guys think?

thanks bhk56

If you have the time and the cash - its never foolish to go to WDW :goodvibes I wouldn't think twice about a last minute trip during Christmas.

I'd probably plan for more CS's and just roll the dice for TS, but I would make it a point NOT TO GET UPSET if we can't get in a restaurant

I say.....GO and have a great time. :goodvibes

Did you say fun ADR's for within the next 30 or so days?!:lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl:  :lmao:

Seriously, it's not impossible but you're gonna have to keep calling everyday to ensure you get the times you want. If it was Value season, i'd say you'd have a good change of even just walking up to a restaurant. During such a busy time such as Xmas, it's gonna be tough, buy not impossible. Good Luck.pixiedust:

A few weeks ago I had the same idea until......

I looked up the airfare prices:scared1:
nipped that in the bud:lmao:
good luck

First check on the airfares and see if room rates are what you are willing to pay. After that it is easier. ;) But don't expect your first, second, third and maybe even fouurth choice for a restaurant.
Doable. But takes more work, and probably more $.

Whewwwww you guys are the best. Thanks for thinking outloud
with me. I had a few hours of dealing with a full blown " I need a
Disney fix or Im gonna die attack!" Regained any sense that I had, I will Survive!!!

1.) And youre right, I looked at flights -
fares are huge.
2.) Is there any more fun with the Dining Plan, then getting ADRS where you want to eat - and looking forward to that for months.

I feel much better now, thanks. Looking at either March or May 2008.

For those heading out - sending you all extra fun and good luck hugs!

Just keep calling.

I just called 4 nights ago & cancelled an ADR for 4 people at Jiko for Dec. 20th at 6pm...this was an ADR I had made in late June (exactly 180 days out).

We decided we wanted to go to Shula's instead. DS9 LOVES  the prime rib there. Shula's had every time slot open (although I know this is not a FUN place that you're looking for).

My other ADRs I made in late June, I'm not messing with though.

*I hope you get some good ones. People do cancel all the time.

**Ok...just went back & read all the posts...sorry you're not going now.

:lmao: :rotfl2:

Despite your low post count at least you have a great sense of humor-so in your case I would say if it was in the budget, and you are not going to do a ton of rides....I'd say go!!! You are the realistic type(acknowledging that it will be crazy)

1) Plan on all CS(but if you are able to secure some ADR's great) Resort Dining probably will be your best bet. Check at concierge, and guest services in the park, and bring your cellphone to call wwwdine.
2) Plan out being out early or just doing your top pick rides:confused3
3) Count touring resorts as an activity(try to get a sleigh ride):teacher:
4) Don't ever over estimate the line at Candle light procession-you can not believe how many people they get in there.:wizard:
5) bring rain gear:headache:
6) Have fun-I think you know it will not be perfect, but getting away might be more important to you.:cloud9:

Have a great trip.

Happy planning your March or May trip:goodvibes :goodvibes :goodvibes

Hi

I'm leaving from MSP tomorrow! Just jplanned our tirp 3 weeks ago. You could do it, but xmas week is gonna be expensive any way you look at it.

I'd go for March, when you really need a break from MN weather!

herc.

A couple of years ago I was quite sick and then I got on some really good meds and was feeling so good. I could not sleep one night and ended up watching one of the Disney behind he scenes shows about the Christmas decorations. Made me so homesick that I got up and got on line to look at emails and there was an email from Disney for rooms at the Values for only $59 a night. I called first thing when the reservation center opened up and when my husband woke up I told him "We are going to Disney World"!! We had a magical time. If the fates want you to go they will show you the way. If not, there is always another time when you can plan ahead a bit more.

I hope your dreams come true!! Slightly Goofy

I think you made a wise decision to opt for a few months from now. There is no way I would go over Christmas. It's just not worth it to me to fight the crowds...not to mention the added expense. We are going the first week of December. That's about as close to Christmas as I would ever want to get. Everything is still decorated all festive, but with smaller crowds.

Enjoy your spring trip!
