You could sign up for Twitter, follow "Breaking News Online", and then have their "Tweets" sent to your phone temporarily. It's free to do, though your phone provider might charge for the texts if you don't have an unlimited text plan. There could be an easier way to do it, but I don't know about it. I'm sure that @BreakingNews will send out a notice as soon as the announcement is made.
