Ok, I'm impatient. I booked our May airfare!

Airtran finally released the dates for our return trip, and the times were EXACTLY what I wanted, so I went ahead and booked. I know if I'd been patient, I could have gotten SW cheaper, but I'm just not patient and I wasn't sure if SW would have an evening flight home.

I got Airtran for $211 including taxes, per person from PHL. It's not fantastic, but it's certainly not the highest I've seen either. I'm resigned to living with it!

Personally, I would have done what you did. For me, anything under $250 from the Northeast is 'bookable'. Especially if the times are good for you. It's also how my Disney Travel Induced OCD comes out. I need to have the travel plans buttoned up as soon as I can..... :rotfl:

Now you can relax about your flights, and get on to the FUN stuff. Planning!!!!

It just feels good to know it's done and you can get on with your other planning. I booked my May flights a few months ago. It's gone down $30 each way since then. It's our first time for flying and buying tickets, so just wanted to be sure I knew it was taken care of!

Same here - bought our tickets in August and the fare has gone down about the same - $30. Its our first time flying too w/kids and its nice to have it taken care of especially since our traveling dates are not flexible.

I would have done the same thing. I am sure you will rest easier now. However, the lowest prices in my area are still too high. So here I am with thousands of others still chompin' at the bit sort of speak.

I feel the same. I know it's SW's policy to release dates later than other airlines, but for the third year they have lost our business to Air Tran. What's frustrating is when I call, I'm told "dates will be released any day now". I've heard this for the last 4 weeks. It's nice to know everyting, including a rental car, is scheduled!

We bought airfare in August for our trip next May. Could have waited for Southwest, but seemed smarter to get flights when we know they are the right price, and where we'll get confirmed seating. We're flying Midwest.

I also booked our flights in May thru Airtran. $192.00 roundtrip from Indianapolis and I feel this is the best rate we will get.

I was able to snatch our flights to Orlando this time for $157 rt per person flying out of allentown and the fare just went down another $20 per person......oh well , at least my airfare is taken care of.

AirTran is sure to have several schedule changes between now and May, so keep checking your itinerary online every now and then.

I booked my April trip on American in August, and within a couple of weeks the schedule changed so I'll arrive several hours later. :confused3 However, the airfare has gone up over $100 since I bought my ticket, so I can't complain.

Wow! That's a great rate flying from ABE!! What airline? Into MCO or Sanford? And when are you going?? We live about 10 minutes from ABE, but we never fly from there because 1. They don't go direct and 2. I can never find decent airfare!

We are flying into Sanford which is not far from Orlando and right now their fare is $89 each way for most of January .

I'm joining the clique! Since we're traveling Memorial Day Week, it just made me too nervous to wait for SW. We booked Midwest for $225/person r/t. Probably could have gotten a better deal through SW but . . . I couldn't wait!! :)

Join the club. I booked last month for our trip in Aug. I'm super impatient. I got a decent rate though so I'm happy. At least we've crossed one more thing off the "to do" list. :)
