Phew, I am back. I promised an explanation of what has been up so here it is, sadly followed by a disclaimer that I won't be around much in the coming months either!
A few weeks before Christmas my mum collapsed with chest pains. Of course, being a mother, she didn't think to tell anyone until I called that afternoon and she casually mentioned it. I persuaded her that it might be an idea to see the doctor and she ended up at the hospital the following week for an ECG. We're still waiting on results to see if it was the worst case scenario which would be a mild heart attack (not that it being "mild" would be a comfort.) It might be nothing but the doctors are taking no chances which is great. My dad died of a heart attack when I was 5yrs old so I have a huge paranoia and fear of them. Obviously that threw me massively in the weeks before Christmas so I apologise for the lack of Christmas cards.
The week after we got the news we've been hoping for, Scott finally was offered a job in Lincoln (his home town about 1.5hrs south east) and he accepted immediately. That meant that we suddenly had to deal with learning how to start selling a house OVER CHRISTMAS as well as me dealing with moving more than twice as far away from mum! Scott bought this house new and it is his only owned house so we've never bought someone elses place either. As you can imagine we've suddenly found ourselves under a huge amount of pressure as Scott HAS to be in Lincoln by the end of March regardless of whether this place sells by then or whether we have a new house there. He has family who have happily offered for him to effectively move in with them but we'd rather not be split up for however long in the months leading up to our wedding. Since new years I've been entertaining a sucession of estate agents who have been coming to value the house and baffle me with numbers and legal mumbo jumbo.
So a stress-free 2008 this will not be. We now have a wedding/honeymoon to plan, hen/stag parties to organise, a house to sell, a new house to find & buy, a new baby on it's way to the family and a whole new city for me to learn my way around. Plus I haven't yet passed my driving test as my instructor is messing me about so I'm just about ready to scream and collapse in a dark corner somewhere.
I'm hoping to use scrapping as an escape but as I need to keep the house neat and tidy for viewers it may not be a good idea, the dining room normally looks like a bomb has gone off even after a single page! Oh, one more thing. My future in-laws have announced they are planning on going to Orlando the same two weeks we are there for our honeymoon and want to meet up. NOOO! Not on my HONEYMOON, aaargh!
