I want to thank everyone on this board for your help so far. I have everything worked out I think. I have plane tickets, A waterview room at the RPH for July 21 - 28. Florida tours picking us up at the airport. And five day tickets to the park and oh yes a loews card. Can anyone think of anything else I might need.

Will anyone else be there during this time? One of my worries from reading thid board is the cost of food might be more than the vacation. Is there an upgrade from the waterview I could get or should I.

Hi Mediclee98!!!

My DH and I are surprising our DS and his best friend for our DS's 12th Birthday!!! (They are not going to find out until the night before we leave) We will be staying at RPR July 23 - 27 in a waterview room! I think that I have everything arranged and am now working on my packing list....two way radios, swimsuits, sunscreen, etc,etc.... I think you get the idea!!

My husband and I are so excited that we have been able to keep the secret about this trip. The beans have almost been spilt many many times!

Have a great time!!!!!

If you are a memeber of AAA, bring you card and get discounts at all the restaurants. Does Florida tours make a market stop? If they do you could pick up some food if you're concerned about meal prices.
We found food prices at Universal to be lower that the prices at WDW.

Don't forget to mention at check-in that you are a Loews 1st member ~ that way even if you have chosen a welcome gift when you signed up for the card, you will be able to choose again (in case you've changed your mind !)
Also at that same time , I say " As a Loews 1st member I would like to be offered any upgrades that are available" Who knows what could be available?? ~ it never hurts to ask !!
You have a waterview tho, that should be pretty cool!!:jester:
Have a great time!

You might also want to try to get a Fan Club card too.

Please let me know if you're happy with Florida Tours -- I have made a reservation with them also. I've only ever used Mears, and decided to try someone new. Thanks and have a great trip!

Also, remember that there is a Loew's First check-in line. If it is busy this can save you a lot of time.

The first time I had the card I waited in the regular line for about 15 minutes and was the next one to to checked-in when I realized there was a Loew's First line with nobody waiting. - Oops

Also, remember that there is a Loew's First check-in line.

There is????
I had NO idea ~ Thanks UniversalAddict !
That's a great thing to know ~ :smooth:

yeah...I remember seeing the line..
but we didn't need it because there was no one in the regular line.

Remember to try checking in early. We were told we couldn't check in until 10:00 or so, but we got there about 8 AM and tried (before the parks opened) and our rooms were ready. :)

We almost didn't try, but I'm glad we did.

And DON'T lose your room key. They don't give yah another one (at least that's what they told me). Have a safe place for it.

The RPH is absolutely wonderful! You'll love it!! The employees are so friendly. My dad cracked a lame joke to my mom and I and one of the employees overheard and cracked up and smiled and all. It was pretty funny...

pack some sandwich stuff and cookies to keep in the room. You can always go back for lunch and save money. We did this and it was nice.

Do't forget lots of film if you plan to take pictures! Film there is pretty expensive.

And most importantly HAVE FUN!! :bounce:

Try and find those collapsible plastic cups. They have water fountains all over both parks, which is a big savings over the $2.50-$4.00 soft drinks at the park.

Also, bring sandals or flip-flops for the water rides at IOA so you don't have to walk around with wet socks and shoes.

Have a blast!
