I have read and looked thru tons of stroller threads, and I have a question??

How comfortable are your kids in these strollers?? I mean older ones. I have a 4 year old, and she is just about 40lbs(give or take a lb.)but she is pretty tall at around 43 or so inches.

Well, I was going to buy an evenflo xsport, and took her to walmart to make sure she fit ok in it, and she doesnt! I mean weight wise yes, but comfort wise no. Her feet almost drag, and she looks like she folds up like a dang taco to get in it. So, I checked the dimensions, and then tried to reference the maclaren. Well, the ones I checked were just a 1/2 in. wider, they did hold more weight, but I am more concerned about comfort?? I guess I am asking, after reading about all the kiddo's different ages going into a maclaren, were they comfortable? If mine folded up, I could only imagine what a 5 or 6 year old would look like..

Please help me find a stroller, I have been searching for days, and I really didnt want to have to post a stroller question, because I know you guys get tired of answering them. I just really need some help. I dont want to spend an arm and a leg for one, but I just dont think running around a theme park for 11-12 hours folded in would be that comfy.

Not to mention, I have got to purchase another stroller for our 21 month old.:rolleyes1

Oh, and to make my situation even more complex, neither me or my dh is in love with a double. I am trying to sell my double maclaren now at the resale shop, I only used it twice. The kids dont do sooo bad, it is us. We can get thru crowds better with singles, and arent as bulky on sidewalks, etc. Plus, one usually wants to go ride something, while I take the little one in a shop or a/c place to look around.

I know how I have wrote a short novel, but I could really use some advice here. I wish I was getting paid by the hour to look at strollers online, because I could have paid for our trip my now.

My son is about 44 inches and 44 lbs, and he tells us his Volo is very comfortable. Doesn't look like it, but he's almost 5 and has been able to let us know when he's uncomfortable since he was, oh, 3 minutes old, LOL, so when he says he's comfy, I believe him.

Everyone always apologizes for stroller threads, and how tired people get of answering them, and I don't get that! If I have good info, I'm always happy to give it! I've seen people complain about the swap threads, but not of the stroller threads, not really. So don't apologize for asking a question you haven't seen the answer to. :goodvibes

My son just turned 5 and was 55 lbs and about 47" tall on our Dec trip. He is a broad child. We had a volo for him and he was really fine. He even slept in it some....although.....the triumph we had for my 2 year old was actually better for him to sleep in as his head is above the top of the mesh in the volo and when he'd sleep he'd end up with his head falling backwards over the top. The triumph was much much better for him for that as we could recline it and give him the extra room! But as far as just cruising around, no problem.

You know what guys... I never even thought to actually ask my child if she was comfortable.. I was kinda in a hurry, and saw they had one out for display. I just looked at her dang legs, and then her shoulders, and thought well great this int gonna work.. Now what?? I am so glad to know that y'all are cool about stroller threads too. I was alittle worried..;)

You might want to look into a Joovy Groove. We just bought one after deliberating for weeks over a maclaren. I used it for the first time today and I really like it. It's a pretty roomy stroller, it seems considerably wider and the seat seems higher than the maclarens.

Just my 2 cents!:thumbsup2

First, disneybridetobe, here's your baby dust...poof poof, there it goes, towards you. :) (now you do it back to me!)

Well, it turns out I don't have any current pictures, but this was last year. He was just under 42" and around 42 lbs (he's funny the way he keeps weight and height even).

Sleeping on the same trip.

His head does go back when he sleeps now, and I don't like that, but then, he sleeps like that less and less as he gets older, too.

Bumbershoot- Thank you so much! The front pic is exactly what I wanted to see. Our children our about the same size so that helps so much.

And disneybridetobe- Thank you for the idea, I have never thought of them before. Gonna go check them out now!

maclaren Techno XLR. It is A nice stroller for your size child I have one and love it. Go on ebay and they have brand new leftovers that are a great price! It's Malarens top model and you can get it on ebay for the same price you are going to pay for one of the others.

My almost 5 year old son still rides in his Maclaren Triumph when we go to Disneyland. He's about 41" tall. He fits great in it. He sits back, relaxes, and sometimes falls asleep. His head doesn't even come close to "clearing" the top. It's nice and tall, and definitely wide enough for him. I much much much prefer the cloth padded seats on the Mac Triumph and up to the mesh of the Volo. I almost bought a Volo when my son was 3...I put him in the demo one in the store, and within seconds, he was reaching under his thighs (he had on shorts) and whining about the "scratchy seat". So, yeah...THAT idea went out the window really quick.

I got my Maclaren online...I got a previous model year, at "clearance price", and it was a STEAL (got my Triumph for $100). Who needs the current year's colors? I don't care! Take the bargain! I think I used www.albeebaby.com (free shipping/no tax)

DS is 39lbs and 41" and he fits in his Volo great and can sleep well, too. I asked him if he will be comfy for Disney in it and he said yep! :thumbsup2

I agree on the Volo :) We love ours, and you can find them on EBAY for about 70 shipped each.. if you want two, maybe you could email the seller and ask for a discount? Just a tip though.. Be sure you have something that clearly identifies them as yours.. ours got accidently swapped out last year, someone took our NEW one and left us their old one!

The only time she fell asleep in the stroller (at the bus stop on our last day)...
She was 40.5" (she made it on all the 40" rides) about 40lbs.

Here's DS. He was shorter, maybe 37" but the same weight. Honestly they looked about the same in the strollers. Maybe DD had longer legs.

We bought two Volos for our trip (new on ebay-- was cheaper than renting). DH and I also liked the singles for crowds, stores, etc. We "test drove" them at BabiesRUs. Both our kids said they were comfortable. They loved using them the whole trip. They hopped right in when we came out of an attraction and rode in them throughout the parks and the resort. (We had never used strollers before, so I wasn't sure how they would do.)
