OK, I have a cruise-on-points and trip insurance question.

If I buy my trip insurance from anyone other than Disney, how would they figure reimbursement if trip is interrupted if we book with points? I know they have a place on the e applications for trip value. But, how do I prove this is what it would have cost if we'd paid cash?

Get a quote for your cruise from the DCL web site and use that as the cash costs.

I was told by 2 different insurance companies that they would not reimburse/cover a cruise paid w/points (nor would they cover the land portion of trip before or after if paid w/points).

They both stated the potential for fraud...booking, then cancelling to get cash for "certain worthless timeshares".

Think DCL uses Access America - did you call them directly & ask?

I recently contacted a travel insurance company and they told me they have policies specifically for DVC members. I haven't been able to find the email, but I'll keep looking. Hopefully in the meantime, someone else will have the info for you.

Momma, I still can't find the email - it probably got deleted. But I'm pretty sure the company was Travel Guard. They said to call their toll-free number for DVC insurance. Let me know if this helps!
