I didn't want to take over the Seaworld Xmas thread . Oh my gosh I am so excited. I didn't even know that the Christmas show was starting while I was there!!

I will be there on 11/25. Interesting thing is that my daughter has a project due when she gets back on endangered species. She has to do a whole presentation so she came up with the idea to do it on one of the animals at Seaworld. So we were finding out which ones were endangered . There are some types of penguins that are endangered and some aren't. We weren't sure which ones Seaworld had .I called them but it was mostly about pricing and vacation packages. I was going to post on their fb page but saw that every time they post something, someone says something about Blackfish...so I knew that it would get buried if I posted.

So I finally found the camp and education number and spoke to the nicest lady! She tried to find out all the different types of animals there because my daughter had to make a list of five because they are choosing tomorrow. So she was able to come up with one of the sea turtles and rockhopper penguin(which they have). Oh and the manatees. She is going to put the sea lion down too although its the Australian one that is endangered and Seaworld only has the California ones.

They told me about the tour (behind the scenes) which sounds awesome!!!!! It wasn't very expensive(in my opinion)..so I am going to sign up for that and take my daughter on it. There she can ask all the questions that she wants.

My older daughter found out she also has a project due in her media class. So she was thinking of possible showing what Seaworld does that is good for the well being of the animals..although she is a little nervous about it.

Anyhow.. So I looked up all my shows...I hope I can fit it all in!!

Morning will be the dolphin feeding
Pets ahoy possibly at 10
Clyde and Seymour 10:45 if I can make it
Tour 12-1:30
lunch maybe
Rides
Clyde and Seymour 5pm Xmas
Sea of trees 6pm
Dinner
Winter wonderland 8:30
Fireworks 8:55 I think? Is the winter wonderland show that short?

So it all depends on how long the shows are..hmm I may have to figure out a better schedule..I can't fit in Shamu or the waterfront snow. I also have to find time to feed the sea lions since that is my favorite. Hmm . Maybe in the morning and I can skip the pets ahoy..

Here are the times for that day if anyone can figure out a better schedule. My brain hurts:

Clyde and Seymour: 10:45, 12:15, 1:45( I have seen this show , my kids haven't)

Pets Ahoy: 10, 11, 1
Clyde and Seymour Xmas: 5pm
Sea of Trees: 6, 7:30
Fireworks: 8:55
Waterfront snow: 5:30, 6:20, 8:10
Winter Wonderland 8:30(I could probably skip this if I had too)
Shamu 7:45

Annnnd I have the tour at 12-1:30. I have to fit in lunch dinner and to be able to go on the rides and see the rest of the park. I must must must feed the sea lions!!

This totally turned into a pre trip report.

One little tip. For new yrs we ate dinner at spice mill which has seating on the lake and we got to watch the sea of trees show while eating dinner too. So that can save some time. The fireworks show is best scene from the stadium after the ice show. That's what we did too since it was also the countdown to ring in the new yr. The ice show seemed a bit longer but it may have been on that day. SW is so much fun during the holidays. It is hard to get it all in on one day. We have AP and went for 2 days and still missed some of the holiday shows and that was all we did was watch them since we had seen the regular ones.

oooooh that is a great tip! Do I need to reserve at spice mill?

ok so the ice show kind of ends into the fireworks? I wasn't sure if I would have to leave and run to where the fireworks were ..haha

Yes, the ice show leads right into the fireworks show. You can stay in your seat at the Ice Show stadium for the fireworks show. It is the best place to view the fireworks.

I would get to the park first thing in the morning for the dolphin feeding because the feeding times are only during certain times of the day. The first time is around 9:30 and it's the best time to go because it's the dolphins breakfast so they are very interactive.

If I could make some suggestions:

I would get in the park at rope drop (9:00)

Dolphin Feeding at 9:30

Blue Horizons Dolphin show at 10:00am (Great show not to be missed)

Sealion Show at 10:45

Pets Ahoy show at 11:30 (Pets Ahoy is right next to the Sealion show and it is only about 15 minutes long so it will give you 15 minutes after the show to get to your tour.

Tour from 12:00-1:30

Sealion feeding at 1:45

Lunch until 2:30

Rides until 4:30

Sealion Christmas Show at 5:00

Dinner at 6:00 (Like another poster said Spicemill is a great area to watch the Sea of trees so you could eat and watch the show at the same time)

Shamu at 7:45

Winter Wonderland at 8:30

Fireworks at 8:55

It's a lot to fit into one day, but you could do it. Have you considered adding a 2nd day at the park for only $10 a person? This would make your day a lot more doable so you have the 2nd day to do anything you miss the first day and that first day wouldn't be so rushed.

That schedule looks better! I just checked my tour and they have one available at 10:30. That might work better.

Has anyone Been on the behind the scenes tour? Is it worth it? My daughter is doing a project on rockhopper penguins. .perfect timing!

You know...I was talking about seaworld with a friend of mine at the grocery store. A woman says to me..."don't you feel guilty going there?". Just hope there ate no issues going ..

Don't feel guilty about going there. That movie is nothing but animal rights propaganda that plays on the emotions of people. The trainers featured in the movie were fired from seaworld for various reasons years ago and have a personal vendetta against the park. Doing a tour will be a great way to see how seaworld cares for it's animals and helps injured and sick animals. And you will learn how the animals are released back into the wild. Some things that weren't mentioned in that movie. You'll have a great time.

You don't have Blue Horizons on your schedule. In my opinion, it's the best show there, even better than the killer whales!!! There is also Shamu Rocks which is the Christmas show which is different than one ocean. It's like dolphins and circ d solei combined. And yes, I don't have a clue how to spell the real show.

Haha...Ya kbf told me I should go to that.. kbf fixed my schedule and included that one and shamu. I think I am skipping one ocean .I won't be able to fit it in
