So I got my Red Card and I am ready to make my first Raise/Red Card gift card purchase. Very nervous.
I will have to make myself a Raise account as well. So give me some good advice.

1. After making a Raise account, I go in and buy a $100 eGift Card for $92.00, then go online and buy two $50 Disney Gift Cards with with the Target eGift Card. Will they mail them to my PO Box? So nervous to try this, but I am ready. Any advice.:scared:

Edited to add, well they don't have any online right now. So I might just look at buying a physical one somewhere online, and just go to the store and try it.

Any advice on either method, is welcome.

You only need to purchase a $95 Target gift card for each $100 Disney gift card that you want to buy online. If you want to get them in the store, then you will need a $100 Target gift card because you will not receive the 5% discount when you pay with a gift card.

Ok, so if I buy a physical one online to use in store I have to buy a $100 one. Two $50 ones will not work? Ok. But why won't it?

It will work...sorry, I was trying to simplify it in my head by using $100 increments:flower3:.

Oh ok, so you can only get the 5% online?
But you can use a physical or e-gift card online to buy them? Thanks.

If you purchase a Disney GC in-store and pay with a Target GC and a REDCard, you will only get 5% off of the balance which is not covered by the GC. IOW, if you were to purchase a $50 Disney GC and use $45 in Target GCs to pay for it and then pay the remainder with a REDCard, you would get 5% off of the $5 difference (25¢).

If you were to make the purchase online at Target .com and paid using the same combination of Target GCs (physical or e-gift) and REDcard, you would get 5% off of the entire purchase ($2.50).

Ok I went online at cardpool and bought a $47.50 physical Target gift card for $43.94.

So when the $50 cards come back online I can use it to get a $50 Disney gift card. 12% savings? Pretty good?

That's not a bad savings. Of course, you could have looked for a Target GC on cardcash for 10.3% off using the 4MOREOFF code (expires 6/8/15). Then your savings would have been more than 15%! Only physical GCs are currently available, but if you're not in a hurry to get them this is the best discount available today.

Ya, that is a good savings. Just going to start with this small one first. I have bought one other gift card from cardpool before. I think it was cardpool.:scratchin Maybe not. Need to check. But the card was a Mac Grill card and worked just fine when I got it.

Does cardcash 'guarantee' their cards as well? I realize that means a (potentially annoying and long) dispute process... but I'd rather know I'm safe.

I think they all do. I know cardpool has a some sort of guarantee. But here is a few more questions..

1. Which is safer to buy online, electronic or physical?

2. If you were to buy a Disney e-gift card, can that be loaded onto your DVA?

3. It seems as Raise has mainly Target and Disney e-gift cards and not physical ones, wonder why?

4. Which site is your favorite one to buy from?

Raise.com is selling Disney eGift cards for 7.5% off. That's better than going to a Target store and using your redcard for 5% off.

  1. I don't think that either method comes with fewer risks. You will wait longer for the physical GC, which will be mailed to you by the original owner (at least in the case of Raise).
  2. IF the Disney e-gift card isn't a Disney merchandise card or disneystore GC, then you can add it right into your DVA. I've done it once, when the Disney GCs were among the GCs included in an additional discount.
  3. As mentioned in #1, Raise does not mail the physical GCs. They have the seller mail the GC right to you. This leaves them open to more refunds if the seller never mails the card or it gets lost in the mail.
  4. I don't have a favorite site. Whoever has the best discount for the GC that I'm buying is the one that gets my business.

Ok, good info. I just wanted to also say thanks to the above posters for taking the time to answer my questions in such a timely manner about this. I will for certain be using this method in the future to try to cut cost on the never ending price hikes that are accompanying Disney related vacations now. Every little bit will help.

Oh, I won't buy one from Target unless its online now, I want to get the combined discount.

If you get a physical target gift card..you won't have to combine them right? The only ones you combine with a regular gift card is the e gift cards right?

If I got a physical GC from one of those websites, I would still combine it with one of my "safe" GCs. Just because you have the actual GC in your hands, the original owner may have retained the information about the card and might deplete it by making an online order before you get to spend the money.

And just to be clear..because I am completely dense with this stuff. ...You have to combine on the mobile site. So I would just treat it like an e gift card. Then I can log into my computer and sign into the Target website and purchase from there? I don't know why, but I am not overly comfortable purchasing on my phone. I tend to like the computer more..

Ahhhh..this is why I love this website. You guys are so smart about this stuff!!!

Has anyone used the Disney egift cards from Raise directly towards paying for a cruise? Do they work? I'm nervous because it says for 'for online use only'
