Just wondering how warm or cold it should be for you to swim in an outdoor HEATED pool.

just curious....

My rule of thumb is that it has to be hotter than my hot flash. :lmao:

:lmao: Ok I am really embarrassed to admit this....but when we went down in February I found it too cold to swim....yes a Canadian complaining about the cold in Florida! I literally ran from the pool to the hotub and back shivering all the time. During the afternoon I managed for about 2 hours that's it. While my kids were whooping it up, me and my long lost companion First name....Long Island...Last Name...Ice Tea were visiting!:yay:

DD's rule: if there's no ice on the pool it's warm enough to swim.

Mom's rule: if it's chilly but steam is rising off the pool water, indicating a genuinely-heated pool, AND there's a warm bathroom to run to after you get out: I'm in.

I have a pretty high tollerence for swimming in cold water...growing up on the east coast.

Just got back and one day last week it was 63 and we opted not to swim. It is actually the wind that was an issue in my mind. Swam at 68 the next day and it was OK, not as much of a breeze. Could't pass up the oppotunity to swim in Storm Along Bay 2 days in a row.

For my DS's they will swim in any weather, heck they were playing in the ocean and the water temp that day was 59. For me as long as it is above 20 C I will swim if the pool is heated if it's not then it better be 30 C lol.

Heck if the pool is heated I would swim in it year round.

LOL, in '94 DW and I took a trip to virginia beach and stayed in chesapeake bay (spelling?) and I went swimming in the ocean. I had tonnes of americans yelling at me I was going to get hypothermia as it was 62 degrees in may. I went in and yes it was cold, but I splashed around alot (mainly to keep warm!!!!) made it look good and then came out and said it was WAAAy too warm for me. I was used to diving off glaciers. You should have seen the looks on their faces :lmao:

Then as quick as possible we went back to our campsite and I sat by the fire for quite awhile!!!!!
