I'm letting Alyssa spend the night with a neighbor girl. It's the first time she's spent the night with someone other than relatives. Tell me it will be OK.

:)

Everything will be OK! :)

First time's the toughest...I remember it well ;) Hang in there

It will be ok. I remember when it first happened with my oldest. I stayed up all night with the cordless next to the bed. As long as you are comfortable that it is a safe home, I would not worry to much...Hugs sweetie, I know what you are going through

I'm sure it will be ok....JTB....how old is Alyssa????

It will be OK. I will be up until 1am EST if you need any hand holding. :D

She will be fine!!!
We're here if you need us..:D

:D I'm sure she'll be fine! And, she's old enough to call you if she needs you so that's a really good thing, that should take some of the worry away! She's probably going to have such a fun time!:D

It will be OK...it is part of the process of your learning how to live without her.

It'll be fine JTB. 8 is about the age that my DD started having sleepovers at friends houses. As long as you know the parents and are comfortable with the home enviornment then all you have to do is look forward to hearing about all the fun she had!

She will be fine.

Just wait 8 more years until she takes the car out alone the first time. Now that is fear.

<font color=navy>She should be fine. My son started sleepovers @ 7, and my dd started them at 8... they were mostly at my house, though. :)

The parents always seem to worry more than the kids do, but it's a fun experience for them. :)

The first time we let them do it is always a little scary. That is understandable. You wouldn't have said yes if you did not trust the other girl's parents. I am sure she will be just fine. You will probably be tired in the morning ;) but she will be fine.

My DD is 8, she is an old pro at sleepovers. She is my youngest. She will be fine. Of course with middle DS we used to get those midnight calls, but not any more.

I went through this last winter when dd went to her first sleepover (6) for a birthday party. I didn't sleep good...she had so much fun...she didn't sleep good and we both took a nap when she came home! Lol:D

How did it go, JTB?

I understand your reluctance. My son goes on the ocassional sleepovers with friends from school, and I am always nervous that the parents are what they seem to be when I call them to introduce myself. So far so good, thank goodness.

Let us know how it went!
