I know, I know, it's early for rental cars...but sometimes you can get a great deal by booking way early. Anyone come across anything phenomenal yet?

I found $403 for a minivan for Dec.14 to 23rd from Budget, but that's the best I've done so far. I'm hoping for cheaper to come along though!

I was able to get a full sized from Dec 17-28 for $260 when I booked last February.

Thanks for the reminder :thumbsup2 - i should check now

Mine isn't december, but I got a 2week rental in november on a Pacifica for $328

I just reserved a compact car today for December 8-16, 2007 for $172.88.

Has anyone been able to book over new years Eve 2007 yet? If so, what rental car agency/codes have you been able to use?
Thank you

FirsttimertoDiz,

What company and code did you use? Does that include tax/fees for 8 days?

Our dates are 12/8-12/14 and we booked a minivan with Dollar from the Grosvenor Resort for $187.96 which includes all taxes and license fees using promotional code "OCVB".

FirsttimertoDiz--

Please share which company you used and which codes or coupons got you that rate.

Thank you.

Hi, I am sorry that it took so long to reply! I went through Dollar rental, and I used the KISS2 code that I got from Mousesavers.

Hope this helps someone!

I booked with Dollar ----- code: KISS2
Dec. 7th - 17th
Compact
$216.50 (total)
The taxes & fees were a little over $50.00 Yikes --$$$$$$$!!!!!!!!

I just changed to Dollar using the Mousesavers code and was able to get a minivan for Dec.14-23rd for $280.46! That includes all taxes and fees and is out of MCO.

Glad to see this post. I spent lots of time this weekend looking at National and Alamo. We are Emerald Club members and it is so wonderful! HOWEVER...the cheapest rate I could get using entertainment book and entertainment coupons-for a midsize/intermediate- was $217 for 6 days and 5 nights. Seems really high! In Januray of 2005 we paid $125 for the exact same thing! Would it be cheaper if we added a day on and made it a full week?? I do not know much about Dollar. Seems like I have read some horror stories about them. Anyone have any specific experiences? I don't like change, and everything went so smoothly with National I am scared to try something new!! Are they (Dollar) onsite at MCO? Seems like you all got some great rates!

This is from the Dollar reservation-

"A hold will be placed on all credit/debit cards for the estimated amount of the rental plus 15% OR a minimum of $250.00, whichever is greater. We will remove the hold at the end of the rental when the final charges are settled."

Why do they need to put a $250 hold on my credit card? I realize it is not that much more than the $152 they quoted me for 6 days(would be $175 with the 15%) but come on! I can see the hold for the $152, that is normal, but with a major credit card it is silly. That is more than if I return the tank empty and they have to fill it up.

Also wanted to add that the rate is cheaper using JUST the kiss2 code and NOT using the mousesavers corp id code at the same time. My rate dropped from $224 to $152 just by eliminating the corp code and using only the Kiss2 code!
