Just wondering...cause I've never been and I just live 20-30 minutes away.
Although, with traffic, I'm sure it will be more like 1-2 hours!

We were thinking of going Sunday. Would love to attend a traditional Irish mass spoken in Gaelic.

Has anyone been?

Tell me more, tell me more...
Not from Ohio but will be in Cinci later this month - Dublin is definitely doable from there.

You know it is silly, I work in Dublin, and don't live to far from there... yet I've never gone

Unfortunately this weekend is kind of busy for me, or I'd go check it out :)

The Festival is this weekend only but here is a link

It looks like fun...my DD wants to go to the early morning Celtic mass. Oh boy! Not sure we can make it by then, but will try.

Thanks for that link Lisa! If I am up at that hour, I might just have to go over there for Mass. Would be neat to experience the Gaelic Mass. I'm with you though, 9 am is a bit early for me as well, especially given the drive and trying to park. I will try though :)

If we didn't have a company picnic with my husband's company this afternoon, I would go over. I really didn't even know it was this weekend, although I should've guessed when my really Irish co-worker (who's Dad usually helps plan these kinds of things) was gone a half a day yesterday :p

If anyone is ever in the Dublin Ohio area during the Irish Festival..first weekend of Aug., I HIGHLY rec. going!

We stayed for about 5 hours today. Would have loved to stay longer, but we have a dog at home that needed let out!

The bands they have are amazing! It is so funny, there are so many girls in Dublin that take Irish Dance lessons. So, we are listening to this awesome Irish band from Canada, and these girls just break out in an Irish Jig!!

What a riot! These kids were too young to drink, so we know it was not alcohol. It was just an occasional get up and dance kind of thing. Quite fun!

The food was great, the atmosphere was great, there were only a few nasty, I've been here too long people.

It's a must do!!!

We just left Dublin... well yesterday. Heard a lovely 4 or 5 car high speed crash on 270.... If your heading that way, please be careful with all the drunk drivers out there. Sucked.

Okay Lisa... next year for sure!! I didn't get up in time to make it to that 9 am Mass, so I just went to my normal Mass. It sounds like so much fun though! I can't believe I've lived here so long and never thought to check it out before :p

Laura, so sorry about the traffic. I work up by that area of 270 and the accidents I see from my building are just awful (alcohol related or not). I am blessed I don't have to travel that way to get home ever!

I suppose I should add, we thought the whole Columbus area was wonderful... just a lot of weaving drivers...

We hope to go back next year, but will skip Irishfest weekend but still hit the Ohio State Fair and the Zoo.
