We just returned from a long weekend at the world & had supper at 'Ohanna on our last night. Posting this in case it may be useful to someone else.

We arrived about 10 minutes early for our 7:35p ADR and the place was mobbed. I over heard a cast memeber saying they hadn't been this busy in a long while. We ended up not being seated until 8pm. We were able to wait in the bar & have a cocktail (although they were out of coconuts for the lapu laups by that time). The bartender did make me a nice pomorita. I am glad we got to wait in the bar - some woman was changing her baby's diaper on a couch in the waiting area... not even a towel under the baby. Eeewwww :scared1: I feel bad for the unsuspecting guests who were going to be using the couch after she was done (sad thing is there were rest rooms w/baby changing stations 20 feet down the hall :confused3 )

Dinner I thought was okay. Typical WDW quality - nothing phenomonal, but not awful either. For 2 of us it was too much. They brought out salad & appetizers to begin & there was enough there for 4 or 5 people. I guess the kitchen just puts the same # in every serving dish -- seems very wasteful to me, but it must be easier on the kitchen staff. I think that is just the way "family style" is because we found the same thing at Garden Grill & Liberty Tree. For 2 people a lot of food seems to get thrown away.

Service was pretty good - we had 2 people working the section of tables where we were. We never waited long for anything & they checked back often. Considering they got hit w/3 tables all at once they did a good job of keeping everyone happy. I got my bluetini right quick, so I was happy. That was a yummy drink - I would get that again! :thumbsup2

DH liked the sesame wings (I don't eat chicken so didn't try them). I thought the duplings were okay. The salad was regular garden salad, nothing exciting. The pineapple bread was very yummy - I had a couple pieces of that.

The veggies that came out w/supper were very good! DH doesn't eat many veggies, which was fine by me...I made up for what he didn't finish.
The meats were okay. The shrimp was peel your own, which was a bit of work, while it wasn't bad, I'm not sure it was worth the work.
I liked the turkey w/the peanut sauce best that was rich & tastey.:thumbsup2
The steak was just okay - I had a fatty piece but DH said his was good. Keep in mind the steak is done medium - there is some pink in the middle so if you prefer rare or well done, you may be disappointed (like I was). The server talked me into trying the pork & I should have stuck to my guns when I said no. DH liked it - came w/a BBQ sauce. I don't care a whole lot for pork to start, and I thought this was bland & a bit dry.

Dessert was bread pudding w/bannana fosters sauce & ice cream. The bread pudding was good, but unfortunately they got the sauce on it before it got to our table - I could have done w/the sauce staying on the side. I also got a little cupcake w/Mickey sprinkles & a candle for my birthday.

During the evening they have someone come out about once an hour. I got to go up when they celebrated birthdays. That was fun.

It is noisy - don't go expecting a romantic meal. While we were eating they had a kids' parade around the restaurant. And when Wishes started @ MK everyone moved over to the windows (I felt bad for the folks sitting there trying to eat).

I was a bit disappointed. We had done the 7:35p ADR expecting to be out in time to catch the water pagent & fireworks, but the delay getting seated prevented that from happening. It wasn't the servers fault - they kept the meal moving at a good pace (we were not rushed, but they didn't dawdle either) but getting seated so much later than we expected really threw off our plans.

Overall, the meal was nice. If we were at the Poly again, or even just bouncing over from MK I would have no qualms w/eating here again, however, I don't know that I would go out of my way to rush back there. If you are going to the Poly - certainly don't be afraid to give it a try, but you may want to carefully watch your time if you have post-supper plans.

Good review. We will be trying Ohana's for the first time in 6 days. I was able to snag an ADR for our arrival night. We always go to MK on this day. And seeing as it's a MNSSHP I wanted something close to MK.

Thanks for your review. I have been torn between 'Ohana and Kona. :confused3 I only wanted to go to 'Ohana because it was popular and so many people said it was a must. But the Kona menu is more appealing. I think we are less likely to be disappointed with Kona. :)

Your salad was just ordinary garden salad?? NOOOOO, tell me it isn't so. They have the best dressing ANYWHERE.
